“Wanted to go back but couldn't...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

Very good steamed shrimp. Cooked just right. Very reasonable prices. It seemed to be a place with mostly locals. Very clean and well lit. Looks like they had just painted. If you want fancy you won't find it here, but, atmosphere was very pleasant.

“Arguing Staff...Food sub par...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

Went there 45 minutes to closing...staff already mopping the floors so we opted for take-out. The menu consists mainly of fried food which in my opinion was not that great. But the worst was the argument occuring with the two staff members while paying for my bill. Made for a very uncomfortable situation for everyone. My family lives in Wilmington and when I visit again I will never go back to this restaurant.

“If it smells fishy, looks fishy, then..”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2012

If during your visit to Wilmington, you or your guests get a hankering for seafood, this is not where I would take anyone with any length of riding time home to eat (for reasons I won't detail here). Granted, fresh seafood is getting scarcer to find but even imported seafood can be tasty
if prepared in the real Calabash tradition. Lathering up heavily breaded shrimp, oysters, scallops and soaking them in time worn, thickened lard, turned dark brown with overuse is how to maximize profits, not make friends who come back, time after time. And that ride time... there
are rest stops within 50 miles of Wilmington, strategically placed as to offer comfort to our
friends and family returning home from an unfortunate dining experience.

“Small Local Resturant Hits The Mark...And Then Some!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

Thank goodness we have friends in the Carolina Beach area!! Courtesy of their knowledge of the area, we were lead to this quaint, local little "joint" with the best fish in town, a friendly and aiming to please staff, and sensational food and value. This place has it all...and packs in the diners!! The flounder was to die for...2 pieces on a small platter with a boiled red potato and cole slaw with hush puppies that will keep you dipping into the basket when you know you should stop!! My husband has a combination platter and proclaimed the flounder, shrimp and oysters to all hit the spot. The fried food here is not too greasy and the spicing is just right. Nothing fancy, but fine dining on plastic plates and great tea out of plastic cups...and there is nothing wrong with that!! I highly recommend putting this address into your GPS if you are headed to the Carolina, Kure, Wrightsville Beach or Wilmington area...this is a don't miss spot!! WE LOVED IT...AND WILL RETURN!! FIVE STARS!!

“Go only if you like fried fish and hush puppies.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2012

Fried, fried and more fried...but the hush puppies are the best we've had.
