Located in the historic area of Wilmington, all the rooms in this hotel are waterfront, on the Cape Fear River. While the view beyond the water is nothing to write home about, the area is charming, with many unique shops and interesting restaurants nearby. The weather was a bit stormy while I was there, but it was fun to watch the waves whip the waters edge while snug in the clean, oversized room which included a sofa, micro and fridge. The best feature was the continental breakfast delivered to your door, including items and at a time which you could select the night before.
There was a computer with internet access which you could use free anytime, and a small workout room. The wireless internet access which was advertised was not working when I was there. While not fancy, I am sure this is the best value in Wilmington, with an excellent location to boot.

The location of Coast Line Best Western was perfect for exploring down town Wilmington, enjoying the beauty of Cape Fear river and the staff was wonderful, I will be back and would recommed this place to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy downtown.

We stayed just last weekend. It was excellent. The room cetainly isn't humongous, but we weren't there to stay in a hotel room. It was clean, quiet, peaceful, and had a pretty view out the window. Make sure you check out the sunset while in the room. The free parking is great and the hotel is just a couple blocks from the downtown strip. It looks like it has a boat dock for people traveling like that which is neat. Also it has a nice free complimentary continental breakfest delivered to your room(They all should do that; it can be quite unpleasant dealing with crowds of strangers at buffet type ones.) And downtown is just like 12 minutes to the beach. We had a fun time in Wilmington thanks in part to the Coastline Inn.

We stayed here on July 30 after I read not great reviews about the Hilton. We were very pleased. The Coastline Best Western is only two blocks from the Hilton and we had an excellent river view. Our room was nicely appointed, clean and quiet. The staff was courteous. I would stay here again. (Note there is no two-night minimum even though so stated in the AAA guide.)
