“good downtown wilmington restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

our first visit to downtown wilmington. we asked the book store for a restaurant rec - wanted a sandwich and salad. she recommended the basic. we liked the vibe and food. the salads were creative although my salad could have been a little fresher (cobb salad). the wait staff was great - laid back but helpful. it seems like a restaurant for locals not tourists (like us) which was a plus. highly recommend.

“Great restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

This is probably my and my husband's favorite restaurant in town. The staff is always so friendly, and the food is always good! Definitely try the collards and mac n cheese! My husband always gets the pesto crusted salmon. He loves it!

“Great little downtown location!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012 via mobile

While staying downtown in Wilmington for a convention, I was looking for something besides the hotel's $14 breakfast buffet. A block away in the Cotton Exchange Building I found this place and found it to be a good value for the money. The food was freshly prepared (especially the biscuits!). The atmosphere was nostalgic as well.

“Yummy lunch and brunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

Impressed by the fresh ingredients and simple yet creative menu (cobb salad with *deviled* eggs- genius!) so we went back for brunch the next day.

“Get the cobblers for dessert Breakfast maybe best choice great waiter very friendly and accommodateing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

But...A southerner needs to teach them how to cook collard greens and you must add cornbread and fried chicken to the menu. Not bad but not true southern food! Tough salty too sweet collards but okra and Mac and cheese good! We had large party separate checks and waiter was great.
