“Go for breakfast if you want 'quick' - the buffet will take a while.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013 via mobile

This is mostly a joint for locals, who have people to talk to while they are waiting. Country cooking, meat juice in the vegs, tasty if that's what you like. Buffet with a lot of options for homestyle cooking.

“Good food and plenty of it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

My wife and I arrived at 755pm, not knowing that the restaurant closed at 8pm. Rather than shooing us away, they welcomed us with open arms and the food we were served arrived quickly and was piping hot. I enjoyed fresh fried oysters and shrimp and my wife had the pasta with chicken. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and kept our beverage glasses full. The prices were very reasonable and were a good value. I felt bad that we had stopped in at closing time and left our waitress a big tip with our apologies but were told that they were glad to have us as guests and we were welcome back any time. We'll definitely dine at The Hitchin Post Restaurant again next time we visit Williamston, NC!

“Good Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

Although I wouldn't class it as one of the best meals I've ever eaten, it certainly was a very good meal. We were traveling & staying overnight in Williamston. The gal at the desk of the Hampton Inn recommended it. The service was good & cheerful. The prices were a fair value.
The Key. Lime Pie with meringue on top was the best I've ever had.

“Service is better than the food!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

We were in town and the place looked intriguing from the road. The service was fast, almost too fast. Our salads came quickly, but they were ordinary garden salads with little creativity. Before we finished our salads, the prime ribs arrived. Although we had ordered medium done, they were quite rare, but acceptable. We wanted some horse radish sauce, but were served raw horse radish which was too strong to comfortably eat. We ordered soda with little ice, but the glasses had more ice than soda. They were quickly replaced. Prices were a little steep based on the quality. If we come back, we'll stick with more common menu items.

“Decent Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

Good Value. Good basic country food. The chicken was good, maybe a bit too cheesy, but I could have pulled some off.
