We stayed the golf view section and were approximately 75 feet from the 7th green with beautiful views of the mountains. The restaurant (cork and cleaver) was great.

Thank you for your business and your time in posting a review of the Inn. I am happy to hear you enjoyed the accommodations, the view and the food during your time with us. The improving condition of the course over the past two years has really put the views of the course to another level. I hope we can have you as a guest again soon.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn for about 5 days. We loved it! We went up to look around for a rental for next summer but fell in love with the ambiance of the whole area of Waynesville. The Inn was wonderful and the staff were very helpful. We enjoyed the food and had such a pleasant experience that we ended up buying a condo instead of renting. The condo is in the same neighborhood as the Inn so, we will be able to eat and play golf anytime we would like. It's interesting reading all of the comments. Some folks want perfection but nothing is perfect. Perfection is the beauty and the slow pace of the area. The Inn is the topping on the cake. Thanks to everyone at the Inn for making our stay wonderful.

Thank you so much for the kind words you have posted. It is certainly gratifying to hear that not just the Inn, but the town of Waynesville, made such an impression that you purchased a condo during your brief visit. We look forward to calling you "neighbor" and would be honored to have you on our course and in our restaurants whenever you wish. Thanks again.

This retreat is nicely located in the scenic NC mountains, just SW of Asheville. The town itself is charming, with lots of interesting shops, and some good restaurants. Plenty of outdoor activities and of course Asheville is not far. We don't play golf and so can't comment on what is apparently a big draw at The Waynesville Inn, but the Inn itself impressed my husband and me as......tired. Badly in need of a face lift--the rooms were small, had dark paneling (which looked original, and looked like REAL paneling, not veneer), teeny bathrooms (only one sink), inefficient air conditioning, and a lumpy bed. No exercise room, and the resort's only store was 99.5% golf pro shop. No aspirin, no tampons, no emergency toothpaste. We had a resort credit & ate at their restaurant the first night, and it was so very, painfully ordinary. Dinner in town the 2nd night was fantastic.

That said........the staff was very friendly, every request (extra pillows, a newspaper) was met promptly and with great courtesy & charm. The grounds are very well-maintained. There is a spa but we didn't use it. The wifi worked like a charm, and was free. The pool was very clean and stocked with lots of chairs, umbrellas & towels. The public areas of the hotel were quaintly yet pleasingly furnished, with lots of good mountain vistas. I bet if you played golf it would be a wonderful place to stay. For us, well.....I can't say I'd go back but it wasn't awful, either.

Thank you very much for taking a few moments to post a review of the property. While I am pleased that our service was the highlight of your stay, it is always disheartening to hear that guests did not enjoy their time with us. It sounds like you stayed in our Woodcrest section, which indeed is characterized by the pine paneling and lodgy feel that have been in place since construction in the 1930s. While many guests love these rooms, some do not, and I apologize that we were unable to find accommodations in another of our buildings that would better suit your tastes. Once again, thank you for posting a review. I appreciate the honest assessment of your visit and have noted some things on which we need to work.

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Neither of us play golf, but we loved this inn. The food was great at the Cork and Cleavor restaurant inside the Inn, and the staff very helpful and friendly. The shops in downtown
Waynesville were a lot of fun.

My organization held our annual regional retreat at the Waynesville in in May 2011. It was a wonderful experience. The Inn offered nice sleeping rooms, good and comfortable training rooms/space for our sessions which aided in the positive responses we have received. Everything moved like clockwork--participants in the retreat stated that it was the best ever and we have them every year. A large part of those comments were due to the accommodations, meeting space, location, and I cannot say enough about the food--our hat is off to the Chef. Kudoos to the entire staff. The vegetarians in our group (and non-vegetarians who practically converted) were thrilled with the vegetarian options. For once they did not feel like they were an after-thought with only a salad during meal time. Thanks to the entire Waynesville staff and especially Michelle Campbell.

Thanks so much for taking some time to review our property. I am ecstatic that we were able to make such a positive impression on so many of your attendees. It sounds like your group does a good amount of traveling, so that makes us feel even better about the service we are providing. I've passed along all compliments to the kitchen staff and the management team. Thank you so much for your business!

Very welcoming staff, excellent accommodations. Golf course was in great shape, challenging but fun too. Dinners were generally good in Cork and Cleaver but don't go if there is a large group in attendance. They had a red wine special but the bottles at dinner were on the table at breakfast. Served a glass from a bottle opened the previous day, yuck! Breakfast was edible but the food in the warmers was cold. Told that there wasn't any more french toast fully 45 minutes before the end of breakfast. Would return but hope the breakfast and wine is better handled. Wifi was very speedy!

Room Tip: Select a second story balcony in the new building.
