“Good price, room was mediocre”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

We live locally and stayed here recently when we had a fire in our basement. The pet friendly aspect was great as we have three dogs and there was no additional charge. Unfortunately the room was mediocre - old and uncomfortable beds, dingy and scuffed furniture, small TV, very low showerhead which made showering a challenge, scruffy towels and bed linens. We won't likely stay here again.

We stayed at this old timey motel for a Friday, Saturday night. Nothing surprised me but the cost to be honest with you. It is a quaint, clean motel dating probably back to the 50's. You drive up and park at your room. Our room was large with an efficiency and it was $100 a night which I thought was pricey for the month of November. Outdated furniture, etc. but you aren't expecting the Hilton ..... right? It's nostalgic and screams of days gone by. Location to downtown is walking distance and couldn't be better! It was good for what it was and I would stay again.

Room Tip: Don't do the pet friendly rooms......ugh! I saw them and no thank you!

Recently stayed for one night in what they consider a pet friendly room. Stayed in only room with king sized bed. Turns out that it is a pedestal bed that was built intentionally high to prevent pets from jumping on the bed. Problem is it is really hard for humans to get in and out as well...especially seniors with health issues. Signs all over room threatening fines for dog hair on the comforter and for other pet related issues. Not much room for walking dogs, and rooms are located down a steep flight of stairs that is not well lit. Room furnishings were old and tired, and not what you'd expect for the price of the room. TV stopped working at 10PM in middle of football game. In sum, a bad experience.

Room Tip: I'm beginning to think that the pet friendly chains such as Red Roof Inn and LaQuina are best wa...

This is a Mom &Pop motel, not an Inn. Great location, walking distance to downtown. Parking is just outside the door. The owners were very pleasant. If you want to spend a night and not a fortune, this is the place for Waynesville.

We stopped for one night. We arrived after the office was closed but our key was taped to the office door waiting for us. You don't find that at chains! The room was clean with No bedbugs! This is a small, older, motel-court type motel which seems to attract a lot of motorcycle riders. In the morning, the owners were both very nice. They gave good directions for us to get on the Blue Ridge Parkway and seem to enjoy what they do.

We have stayed here several times before with no issue.. This time however, after having confirmed our stay months in advance to assure staying with the wedding party, we were ousted to accomidate the growing room needs of a large family reunion who uses Oak Park more often than we do... The conversation was just that... too bad... It made our assistance to the wedding party very difficult. I can understand the conflict but not the conclusion considering having confirmed reservations and having re-confirmed them several times.. We had been in the room for a few days when ousted for the greater need... Unfortunately we will not be able to believe in them again with this being so openly poor..

Room Tip: Have an alternate location arranged... One of the pet friendly rooms does not have old carpet... Ge...

Ok lets start out by saying this place is an old motor lodge. Know that ahead of time and you will know what to expect, it was one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed and I slept better than I have in months. Beautiful, cute property a block out of downtown Waynesville with nice owners with a family feel. There is nothing fancy here, furnishings are mismatched and nothing new in the room but for what you are paying who cares? When in these beautiful mountains you will not be spending time in the room anyway! Extremely comfortable beds, some of the best water pressure in the shower ever and boy do they have hot water! Personally I'd go back tomorrow with no issues, oh yea did I mention oarking right in front of your room and rocking chairs to boot? Loved it!!
