“great lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

We were pleasantly surprised with the menu variety and food quality. What atmosphere is lacking in decor is definitely made up by the spectacular view! Wait staff was very friendly and fast service.

“Wonderful view and wonderful food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

We've eaten here several times and it is great every time! Waiter was very attentive. The trout was superb! Make sure you get the french silk pie all the way! I have heard the breakfast here is great--I'll be trying that this Spring when they reopen for the season.

“Unbeatable views, very good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

Atmosphere a little like a Denny's (what with scruffy hikers mingling with road tripping couples, the Harley Hawg crowd, and family groups in Winnebagos); but food much more upscale in presentation, variety, and flavor. Early morning over breakfast, and sunset thru later dinner hours my favs.

“Downhill Pisgah Inn”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2013

Went for lunch one day. My husband and I were treated very badly by our waitress. It wasn't 5 minutes after we got our food that she was rushing us to leave. I found a hair in my food, at which she acted as though it was my fault. The fried chicken was mediocre at best, the mashed potatoes were not fresh, they tasted more like they were frozen. My husband got a barbeque plate, which was mediocre also. We ordered wine, which was WAY over priced (as were the rest of the wine and the rest of the menu). $6.99 a glass. A bottle cost less than that at the grocery store. When coming into the dining room it was like stepping back in time. In this case it was not a good step back. All the horrible things that a dining room had back in the day were there. Ugly green chair covers and table covers. Mix matched plate sets. The only thing that was good was the window view looking out over the mountains. We will never eat there again and would not recommend it to anyone. Driving of the Parkway to eat is a much better idea!
