“Absolutely ONE of THE BEST in OUR world of Travel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

The Inn at Iris Meadows is a creation from a dream.... Two people who came together later in life who brought their talents, hopes and dreams and made them into a spectacular Inn for the rest of us to enjoy. It is a labor of love; a timeless treasure; a work of art.

It is a combination of business saavy, journalistic history, gardening talents and passions, beautiful seamstress work, and years of developing a taste for delicious foods and re-creating those specialties in their kitchen.

Words cannot express our stay. It was wonderful and I often do NOT recommend something to others because our tastes vary so much. I feel, in this case however, that most people will fall in love with this lovely inn and the innkeepers themselves. Their knowledge of the area, the life of the Amish, and the history of the home itself is enough to write a book. Their lovely smiles, their willingness to make your stay memorable, and their devotion to this inn all come together in a place filled with incredible antiques, lovely china, a fine collection of magazines to keep you reading for days, and a garden that is nothing less than photograph worthy.

Stay for at least a few days....our stay was way too short, but we had no idea what we were getting into. It will be the new standard for bed and breakfasts and we've been in so many across the globe. I could write a book myself!

Make certain to ask if you want a room with a separate shower as there is a room that offers such. Others have large spa-like tubs that offer hand-held showers. The porch is magnificent and is filled with chairs, rockers, and other comfy spots to relax.... grab a cup of tea from the guest kitchen, take a deep breath and relax....THIS is what a vacation for us is all about.

The street name is so appropriate for this lovely inn....Love Lane.... perfection! Thank you to the innkeepers for working so hard. I know how much work this is and how sometimes it goes unrewarded. Know in your hearts that it is a gem and YOU made it that way....

xoxo

“Warm & Welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Our 5 night stay at The Inn at Iris Meadow could not have been more wonderful. Innkeepers, Becky & George Fain, are such warm & welcoming people. We were treated as beloved family, even though this was our first time with them. Upon arrival, we were greeted by "Scratch' the Inn's dog. She enthusiastically leads all guests to the front door. So cute! We stayed in the Garden View room. Queen bed, lovely fireplace and an enormous bathroom. Our room and the entire Inn, is spotlessly clean. Becky does an outstanding job of keeping the rooms tidy, with fresh towels, nice toiletries & superb bedding. And breakfast was just marvelous. Fresh yummy coffee, homemade granola, tasty muffins, omelets one day, waffles offered the next, not to mention the daily fruit plates. Presentation was outstanding. Becky & George also have wonderful recommendations for Waynesville, Asheville and Hendersonville, in addition to the best stops on the Blue Ridge Parkway. When we are next in this area of North Carolina, we will absolutely stay at The Inn at Iris Meadows again. Hopefully our next visit will be timed to see all the iris's in full bloom.

“Bed & Breakfast Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

If I had to choose one word to describe how I felt leaving the Inn at Iris Meadows it is renewed. The inn keepers Becky and George Fain achieve the art of pampering to perfection. Each breakfast prepared fresh, delicious and abundant. I've had the privilege to stay in three of the seven bedrooms on separate occasions. Firefly Summers Room, Garden View Room and my favorite Butterfly Mornings Room. Who am I kidding? They are all my favorite rooms! The bathrooms are extraordinary especially the Garden View Room. Exceptional linens. I loved to sit in the swing on the upstairs porch at night to view the lights of Waynesville and again early in the morning with a cup of coffee in a pottery mug as fog lifted and the mountains reappeared. I can't wait to return.--Margaret Dunbar Cutright

“Five Star Bed and Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

This was my husbands and my first visit to The Inn at Iris Meadows. Becky and Gearoge Fain treated us as if we were family. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious. My personal favorite was the granola. The flowers, the landscape, the garden were all beautiful. My husband and I hiked the acres and enjoyed the beauty and wildlife.. After great company, delicious breadfast, and a hike, to relax in the huge bathtub was just what I wanted. After returning home, we told all our friends about the "must go to" bed and breakfast. We look forward to many more trips to The Inn at Iris Meadows in Waynesville, NC.

“Another visit for the memory book”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

The Inn at Iris Meadows is one of our favorite bed and breakfast inns and each time we have the privilege of being guests in this delighful home is better than the last. Becky and George Fain, even with all the rooms full, make each and every guest feel as though you are the only one in the inn. Everything you expect in your room is there and whether or not this is your first or your fourth or fifth stay, such touches as the turn-down service in your bedroom is just one of the many pleasantries of staying with the Fains. And any review would be sorely amiss if their breakfast was not mentioned. Becky's culinary expertise coupled with the service of George and staff is the highlight of every morning.

Room Tip: The Garden Room is open and airy --- delightful to have the sun awakening you in time for early coff...
