“A Wonderful Stay at a Very Special Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

We stayed at the Pisgah Inn on May 12th on our way to the Smoky Mountains for our anniversary. Our room was a King on the 2nd floor of Tree Tops building and the view was spectacular. The room was spacious and newly renovated. The bed was very comfortable. We didn't get to use the private balcony, as the weather was close to freezing and blustery (but sunny). There is new balcony furniture and new furniture throughout the room. Very, Very nice. The price of the room includes a complimentary breakfast (great selection of food) in the morning. We feel the price is very reasonable for the room, breakfast, and gorgeous view. We have stayed there in the past and have always been very pleased. The staff is friendly, efficient and helpful. We would recommend the Pisgah Inn to all. We will definitely be back in the future. Please see our review of the restaurant, also.

Room Tip: Request a 2nd floor room for the best views from any of the buildings.

It's a delightful inn the mountains, not a luxury hotel, but that's what we were hoping for. The view from the room and the restaurant were beyond compare. The beds were comfortable and the heating worked well. I was also delighted to find they used some great environmental practices. We all found the food and service at the restaurant to be wonderful. Tip, for a better chance to take in the specatular view arrive in the latter afternoon when the fog has had a chance to lift and don't expect to see much in the morning.

If you come to the top of the parkway, lets face it you come for the view. Extremely foggy and tried to re-book for another night but strict 72hr policy.
Expensive room is more like a motel, needs updatinging- eespecially the bathroom ie doors roughly painted. It does comes with a old fashion tv and mini refrigerator, balcony and ceiling fan. But when its cold and foggy not a good destination. No options when you can't hike.

My husband spent last weekend at the Inn. Weather was rainy but "anyday in the mountains" is a great day. The clouds are constantly moving so the pictures I took are beautiful. We love to hike and would have taken in a trail or two but it was wonderful just to sit on the balcony in the rocking chairs (wrapped in blankets) soaking in that incredible view. My grandfather described the mountains as "only God can paint that picture". That is so true. We bring along board games and a book for relaxing weekends.

The most strenuous thing we did was walk up to the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Staff is the best. Food is always perfect. It is just the two of us but I would recommend the Pisgah Inn for families, couples, groups, and special events, etc.

This was our third trip up to Pisgah. The first two trips were completely satisfactory. Rooms were fine. Food was good. The reason to go there was to hike outside after all. We stopped off one night this trip on the way back from a longer hike over by Gatlinburg, Needed a room and a decent meal. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they have really upped their game. The rooms were redone and very nicely. The food, always fine, was better than fine now. And the personal are working particularly hard to provide above average service. We used to stay at Peaks of Otter every New Years and were sad to see them close this year. We have high hopes for the new company coming in. We like to camp and hike and it is a pleasure to spend the last night on the way home in a bed and not on the ground. And have a good shower and a decant meal not seasoned with dirt. Pisgah, always adequate, was a pleasant surprise with their recent improvements. We wish them the best and we'll be back. Thanks.

Stayed here for two nights on our drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway and I have nothing but the utmost praise for this Inn. I paid more , and booked many weeks in advance , to secure the Pisgah Suite and I have to say , even after working for almost 40 years in marketing tourism , I have never stayed in a nicer room and the views from every room , to say the least , are spectcular. The entire complex is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Every last member of staff I came into contact with was pleasant, professional and polite , Front desk could not have been more helpful in advising what to see and places to visit. Restaurant was lovely and staff attentive and prompt. I wish I had been staying longer. Congratulations and well done to all at the Inn

Room Tip: Treat yourself to the Pisgah Suite if it is available

Unfortunately, we arrived in thick fog, found the inn only thanks to the precise mile marking, and had to leave early next morning to catch a flight --- still in the fog. So we cannot comment on the probably very beautiful views from the balcony or the panorama windows inside the restaurant.
The inn looks like a motel from outside, and you park your car just in front of your room. The inside is a different story, however. Our room was very large, impeccably clean, well-appointed, and had a beautiful balcony (with a nice few into the fog ;-) ), definitely two categories up from standard motel quality, I'd rather compare it to a 4-star hotel.
Dinner was exceptionally good, much better than expected. We had chicken curry soup (essentially a genuine minestrone with chicken and curry spices added), and then one had trout, the other game hen. Both were really nice and not expensive at all. Breakfast the next day (included in price) was ok but nothing to rave about.
Unfortunately the receptionist (I guess this was the manager) didn't meet us with exceptional hospitality or outstanding knowledge (as for traveling directions). All the other staff we met, at the restaurant or the gift shop, however, were more than friendly and very helpful.
