We had our wedding here last year, and after practically battling it out with the hotel staff and management (i.e. Rob Miller - the rudest, most uncaring general manager you'll meet in the hotel industry), they all but ruined one of the biggest days of our lives! The restaurant manager, Barbara, was amazing and (once she found out there was a wedding there) was extremely helpful with all of the details and receptions we held there. I have no qualms with the restaurant. My deal here is with the hotel staff. They were told there was a wedding there months in advance (we even booked the "Rhododendron Room"). One month before the event, they had NO record of a wedding going on. We had booked 10 rooms to hold for the wedding party and family, however, they made us put the first night for all 10 rooms on a credit card, which was fine, but when the family arrived, they would not take the first night off the one credit card and bill the entire stay to each of our credit cards. So basically, we had to pay for all of the rooms on that ONE CARD we held the rooms on. What sense does that make when our guests and family were coming from all over the world to stay here? We had brought our own luxury pillows and forgot them upon check out, we came back 15 minutes later and they were STOLEN by the housekeeping staff. We tried to give the Inn a 2nd chance this year, and once again they SCREWED up. We booked four days/three nights over the phone to try to get the same room we had during our wedding, the girl on the phone made the reservation and we didn't think twice about it. After coming back from breakfast, they all but jumped us to go in to talk to the office, where they told us we were supposed to check out that morning (a day before we were supposed to), stating the reservation was made for Thurs-Sat, not Thurs-Sunday like we had stated. The room was taken and we couldn't stay the night because they were full. Who screws up a reservation? the Pisgah Inn, that's who. More of same. We will never stay here again, not only did they ruin our wedding, but our 1 year anniversary as well. Thanks for nothing, glad we saved ourselves the $140 for the last night, you don't deserve it. Keep your money, eat there, and stay somewhere else. Just horrible. I could go on about the actual rooms/restaurant/views, but the previous reviewers have said it already.
