“Delicious with a Great Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

The meal began with the most delicious sweet potato butter I have ever eaten, followed by Meatloaf, mac and cheese, and collard greens to die for. Everything was expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere has a nod to the rustic heritage of Haywood County.

“Excellent food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

I highly recommend the dates wrapped in bacon and stuffed with blue cheese. I had the duck confit and my husband had the trout. Both were delicious. We'd dine here again.

“Nice Menu, Give Frog Leap A Try!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013 via mobile

We had a Saturday , 6pm reservation.
We were seated at a table for
2, that was near the computer and water service. We were worried about noise and
distraction. We asked to be reseated and were denied. Nicely handled but denied. We prepared ourselves for a horrible evening and were pleasantly surprised that the drinks, hush puppies, blue cheese and bread points were all excellent. The small plate of duck was a perfect size. The menu described the duck as "crispy" and that is my only complaint. The duck was not "crispy." It was tasty and moist but fried in an odd way. My husband had the trout dinner and it was excellent. We
recommend the coffee and the frozen Steeplechase coffee-toffee. Overall, this
was a delightful dinner. Portions were adequate and presentation great. Service by Sunlee was excellent. She made sure we were well served and apologized at the end of the meal that we could not be relocated and hoped that we were satisfied. We recommend you take the leap and try this restaurant.

“Go for early or late lunch and avoid the crowd”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

We walked past Frog's Leap the night before and noted that it was packed with customers. So we decided to go on another day for a late lunch when it wasn't crowded. Previous reviewers had described the grilled meat loaf, and my husband was very happy with that choice. It was topped with a homemade tomato jam, which was also delicious. The side of macaroni and cheese was average. But the collards were magnificent! We have high standards for collards, and these were tender, well flavored and topped with a spicy hot vinegar that did not overpower the greens. I had shrimp tacos with an avocado garnish, and they were good. Not outstanding, but good. The restaurant is very attractive and clean, and the service was very good. If you want to have dinner there, it would be a good idea to make reservations. Also, parking downtown is limited, so allow enough time to find a space.

“Lunch at Frogs Leap Public House restaurant was fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

We stopped for lunch today at the Frogs Leap Public House restaurant in Waynesville, North Carolina, and had an awesome meal. The waitress and service were terrific. The food was delicious, and perfectly prepared. It simply couldn't have been a better experience. Inside it’s casual but very nice, sparkling clean and comfortable…I had the Grilled Chicken and Nueske’s Bacon Sandwich. It’s big (and very good). I ordered a side of crispy Nueske’s bacon because it’s the best bacon I’ve ever tasted. It comes with cheddar, cucumber-buttermilk dressing, lettuce, tomato and red onion. My sweetheart ordered the Smoked Chicken Salad Sandwich on toasted sunflower wheat bread. It had grapes, almonds, apples, and other stuff. (It was also spectacular - I ate half of it for her!)
Many of the items on the menu are smoked in a wood-fired oven (including the chicken in our sandwiches), which makes the flavor incredible.
Frogs Leap has a special blend of coffee, and our waitress made a fresh pot and she even preheated our cups so it was steaming hot. I checked out the Frogs Leap website when I got home and found some terrific pictures of their food.
