“My Own Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

Prospect Hill is simply beautiful and a most relaxing B & B to spend a few days. The gourmet breakfasts were excellent. The birds and flowers were so well taken care of. I could easily see the pride of the innkeepers by the polished way both the inside and the outside of the property was cared for. Being able to sit on the porch and just read was peaceful. I stayed in August 2013 which was a perfect time of year to be in North Carolina. Besides having a luxurious room at Prospect Hill, I had the opportunity to appreciate the mountains, forest, shops, restaurants and friendly people in Waynesville. Yes, I will go back again and again!

Room Tip: I have to say all of the rooms were spectacular. I felt right at home!

We stayed two nights at Prospect Hill. The hospitality is great. Proximity to town makes this an ideal home base for exploring Waynesville. The front porch afforded a relaxing environment with cool mountain breezes in the evening. Breakfasts were scrumptious.

Hello Tom,

Thanks for your kind review. I apologize for being out of the country for your first night with us but you both seemed to be happy on the porch when I arrived home! We very much enjoyed the conversation at breakfast and hearing about your family. Thank you again for your service.
We hope you will join us again the next time you come up to Western North Carolina.

From the wonderful innkeepers to the mountain views and beautiful home, you have a retreat from the busy world. An easy walk into town filled with shops and an easy drive to hiking and other interesting nearby towns and restaurants. You feel welcome and like family. The porch is a wonderful place to sit and read or just enjoy the cool mountain air and read.

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms, some are a bit larger then others.

Thank you for your lovely review of Prospect Hill Sharon! Ron and I so much enjoyed chatting with you and Dick even though you beat us here from the anniversary party in Georgia! It was nice to see Dick again and meet you. Please come back for a visit the next time you are in our lovely mountains.

My husband and I just spent our anniversary/husband's birthday at Prospect Hill. The location was perfect as it was easy walking distance to downtown Waynesville and also easy access to the Blue ridge Parkway, Nantahala Outdoor Center and lots of other attractions. The Inn was beautiful and very peaceful even though it was located in the city limits. It was such a romantic setting with beautiful flowers. The hosts even kept fresh cut flowers in our room. The hospitality was the best and breakfasts were exceptional.

All rooms are on 2nd floor, so if you are unable to negotiate stairs, you may wish to consider other accommodations.

We're so happy that you both enjoyed your stay with us. We feel lucky to get to spend time chatting with folks and especially sharing their birthday cakes! We do hope you'll visit again when you're up for some good hiking. Best to you both.

We stayed at Prospect Hill on a trip recently to show our guest from Ecuador the NC mountains. I chose a BNB so she could see first hand the workings of a typical older home here. Prospect Hill and its hosts did not disappoint. Each beautifully prepared room had its own bath. The beds were comfy. Breakfast was delicious. I would happily return for another stay. The town of Waynesville is vibrant and interesting to cruise

We stayed for a week in late June 2013. Ron and Shelly are wonderful hosts. They are a friendly, intelligent, gracious couple who strove to meet any need. The Savannah room was decorated with pictures/furniture mostly from the early 1900's, with a mixture of some contemporary amenities in the bathroom. This included a Jacuzzi for two. The King-size, pillow-top Four Poster bed was very comfortable. There are partial view of the mountain, with lush vegetation in the foreground.

Breakfasts were a nice treat, and they accommodated dietary requests, lazy morning flexibility in scheduling, and nicely balanced attention to both privacy considerations vs. fostering pleasant, leisurely breakfast chats. Would definitely, highly recommend this B&B for a relaxing mountain vacation.

We stayed here for the best part of a week to be close to Western Carolina University and Asheville, and it worked out great. They are an easy walking distance from the center of Waynesville, and we got to eat out in town which has a lovely small town feel and enough to do for the evenings. They happened to have an international dance festival and food market that weekend!

Judith and Dennis are wonderful hosts, and went out of their way to be accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend staying here for a peaceful, comfortable break, close to some of the nicest parts of NC.
