“Lovely B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

We stayed here July 1st and 2nd, 2012 and were in the Tybee Room. Dennis and Judith, the hosts, are very accommodating and friendly. Our room was average size but had plenty of space for us considering we didn't spend much time there. The front porch is a great place to drink coffee and greet the day. Breakfast was adequate but probably wouldn't satisfy someone with a huge appetite - one day we had fruit and yogurt with eggs benedict and since I'm a light eater, I shared my eggs with my husband. The next day was a small dish of fruit and Belgian waffles with strawberries. Coffee was ready early each morning which we appreciated very much.

The B&B is across the street from a great restaurant - Bogart's - and within easy walking distance of the downtown area where we ate another evening.

We have already recommended it to friends and would stay here again.

We have stayed all over and this was our first B&B. Dennis was the best host we could have had. His beautiful historical home was more than welcoming for our two night stay in the mountains. We celebrated our wedding yrs here and felt the history of this beautiful home thanks to the information Dennis provided us. We were lucky enough to stay with other families who were very inviting to be around. My husband and I will only be staying at B&B's after this fantastic experience. The breakfast was amazing and the coffee was made perfect with Dennis's special touches. I can't wait to bring my kids back there for spring. Waynesville is the perfect town to visit and the Prospect Hill B&B made it even better!! Thank you so much Dennis for making our experience PERFECT!!!

We spent 2 nights at Prospect Hill. It was my husband and I, our son and his wife and our daughter and her husband and young adult daughter. Dennis was so cordial and even adjusted his breakfast time and menu to meet our needs.

The front porch and entry was like going to your great aunt's home for a Sunday afternoon..

The living room was set up for different amusements and quite large. Lots of reading material available.

Our bedroom was exquisite. We had a large 2 person jacuzzi tub in our bathroom along with separate shower. Our room had a nice little refrigerator stocked with water and soda. I noticed the rooms our other family members had also had refrigerators. The queen size bed was amazingly comfortable. We enjoyed our room so much we didn't even notice if there was a TV, but my son told me there was one.

And then the dining room where we had breakfast was so well arranged. Coffee available for my husband who "wakes up to the smell of coffee" before breakfast. Then the food was excellent. Dennis always came in the dining room and entered into our conversation which made us feel so much at home.

Our daughter has stayed at Prospect Hill on business many times in the past few years and she recommended we stay there.

Across the street is a wonderful steak type restaurant. That was one of the highlights of our trip to have such good food nearby.

Waynesville is a charming small town that is very tourist friendly.

It's so instinctive to blast the bad places and mention some of the things that disappointed us but this review is intended credit a truly good place - Prospect Hill. This is a large comfortable B&B with only a few rooms - all on the second floor. Our room was large by B&B standards with a sitting area in addition to the bedroom and private bath. Three sets of double windows offer a clear view of the mountains. Even if waking up in a featherbed with a great view is not for you, there's more. Decend the wide Victorian staircase and enter the diningroom where you are treated to a wonderful breakfast with the owners and other guests. Get aquainted, make new friends, learn about the area, get travel directions, and get tips on where to dine in town - these are some of the attributes of a truly good B&B. So, if you are lucky enough to get a reservation for one of the rooms at Prospect Hill, be prepared to be treated like family while you are there and depart for your day with the comfortable feeling that you are among friends.
