We stayed with Ron and Rachel at the Andon-Reid Inn for a mini-vacation during the winter holiday season. From the moment we stepped onto the property Ron and Rachel were the perfect hosts. Ron was able to set us up with hiking trail recommendations while Rachel advised us on where to go in town for dinner and shopping. We stayed in a beautiful room, the John W., named after the first owner of the home built in 1902. The renovations to the property are true to the original plans of the home while providing all the modern amenities for single travelers as well as families.
Each room is equipped with a fireplace, so we would wake up and enjoy a cup of coffee in the coziness of our room or downstairs in garden room before Rachel served her 5 *star* breakfast. There were plenty of things to see in downtown Waynesville and Asheville, which is just a short distance away. We also took advantage of the daylight, hiking the area trails in the Smoky Mountain and Pisgah National Parks. In the evenings we would have dinner downtown (Sweet Onion was excellent) and then play games in the fully equipped recreation room in the basement of the Inn. Shuffleboard, pool, scattergories, you name it, the Andon Reid has it! They even have a wine room and gym available for patrons.
Ron and Rachel were more than hospitable; they treated us like family and we are looking forward to returning for another visit soon.
Room Tip: The John W is very spacious!
