Normally, when we travel to the NC coast, we stay in [mh]otels. This trip, for a family reunion, we decided to try something different and we had absolutely no idea what to expect. I was VERY pleasantly surprised.
From our first contact with Becky and Scott, when we booked our room, I was impressed with their interest in our wants/needs. We spent several minutes on the phone discussing which room we wanted (Becky gave a brief plus/minus description of each available) and what we liked for breakfast and so forth.
From the time we arrived Saturday afternoon until we left Monday morning, we were treated like favored guests (hosts always ready to help, answer questions, make suggestions) and like family (Becky offered the use of the kitchen if we needed to make something for the reunion, and we talked long after Monday's breakfast about family, kin, pets, etc.)
And, of course, the breakfasts were excellent. And sometimes accompanied by operatic arias.
