“Delightful B & B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

This small inn is delightful as are its owners. With only 4 rooms, the inn made our stay relaxing and personal. We appreciated the inn being in Wanchese and out of the busy-ness of the island. The bedroom was small but had its own bath, a great bed and was immaculately clean and comfortable.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the two larger rooms, with their own baths.

What an amazing place to experience this quaint fishing town, the B &B is quiet, clean, cozy and welcoming! The hospitality is exception, the breakfast delicious and the hosts gracious! Thank you for helping make this a memorable trip to the Outer Banks!

Bill and Lynn have done a beautiful job remodeling this four bedroom B&B. Plenty of space both inside and out. No hotel continental breakfast here. Hot breakfast with farm fresh eggs and seasonal fruit and vegetables from the garden. If you desire advice about the area, Bill and Lynn are very knowledgeable. They can advise from best restaurant to fishing charter. Wanchese Inn has a 100% score from lodging regulators. Bill and Lynn are on top of all details and will go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Returning guest are obvious, and we look forward to our next stay.

What a wonderful place!!!! We went for our 1st anniversary and loved it!!! Lynn and Bill are great hosts! And they both cook a great breakfast! Our room was amazing; and we had the place to ourselves. It was so beautiful, quiet, and we felt right at home. Out of the way, yet so close to everything! We would absolutely recommend!!

We thoroughly enjoyed a quiet and peaceful night at the Wanchese Inn. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was huge. Lynn was a gracious host and breakfast was excellent. We will definitely stay at the Wanchese Inn on future visits to the Outer Banks.

Had never been to Wanchese and we definitely made the right choice of where to stay. We've never stayed anywhere that was so quiet and clean. Lynn cooked delicious breakfasts and her cookies were a real treat. Advice on travels in the immediate area was very accurate and all of the local information made our trip even more fun. We are already talking about going back in the fall.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms are nice but we enjoyed having our own entrance.

Let me start by admitting that we visited in August 2010, rather than September, as the review indicates. I forgot to rate this place until TripAdvisor wouldn't let me enter Aug 2010 anymore.
With that disclaimer, the Wanchese Inn B&B deserves another rave! I brought my wife to the OBX so she could do some diving. Wisely, I did some research and found that the dive center is in Nags Head, but their boat is in Wanchese. Not a long drive between the two, but I wanted something close to the boat for 6:30 AM drop-offs. Lodging choices aren't plentiful in Wanchese, but the Wanchese Inn kept appearing to be the best choice. It is about a 2-minute drive to the Broad Creek Fishing Center, where the boat was docked. It is less than ten minutes to Manteo, where you have a wide choice of restaurants.
Upon arrival, we were surprised that nobody was there, but found a note from the owner saying that she was running an errand. The note was inside, which gives you some indication of the friendly, small town atmosphere. We subsequently found that Wanchese is a place where almost everybody knows everone else. Our hostess returned shortly and our check-in was quick and easy, including the point where we discussed our need for an early breakfast - no problem at all. I sensed a cheerful willingness to accommodate our breakfast wishes. We assured that, if our hostess was going to get up early for our breakfast, we didn't keep her waiting, and our reward was an excellent breakfast each day, accompanied by friendly conversation. The neighborhood is quiet, and the room was excellent. We chose Room #1, the second floor room in the front of the house, with a Jacuzzi. One of the features pointed out by our hostess was that Room #1 got really nice breezes if you didn't want the air conditioning on. Like it had been planned, there was a neighborhood blackout one night, so the AC didn't work. She was right, the open windows kept us comfortable.
My wife loved her diving, and I enjoyed sightseeing. We both enjoyed the Wanchese Inn, so it looks like we'll be back!

Room Tip: Only 4 rms, so book early. Rm #1 is biggest and can easily accommodate 3, while others sleep 2. Ea...
