“Refurbishing, better than expected, decent for overnight.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2007

The hotel has obviously been working to freshen itself up. They were in the process of changing the carpet, and most of it was done. The beds have been upgraded, and overall it was pretty clean. Standard Hampton breakfast, but with the microwaves for the packets. But at least there was fresh fruit, and plenty of muffins, cereals, etc. Hey, it's not the Waldorf Astoria, but that is not what is expected for an overnight stay anyway. Wireless internet worked flawlessly in the room with the code provided. Overall, we got a good rest, and that is all we were looking for in an overnight stay. I would not hesitate to stay here again if I was in the area.

  • Liked — Good accomodations at good value
  • Disliked — Hard to see street sign where to turn off late at night off of US 1.

Hampton Inn's are usually great places. But this one...
The floors needed vacuuming. Someone threw an apple at the wall in the elevator lobby and it wasn't cleaned up for days and then poorly. There was a dehumidifier in the room that sounded like a truck when running.
Steer Clear!!!

We just stayed there last weekend while house hunting. The hotel was great. It's in a very good location, just off of US1 and is near several restaurants, shopping centers and housing developments. It was a good base of operations for us.

The room was of good size but had no closet. It did have an upright wardrobe, so that was fine. But no closet?? We had a King room, so there was a lot of space. The room could have used an additional table maybe. It had a desk, but we needed another flat surface.

The breakfast room was very nice. Maybe too many chairs, but who's counting (other than us??)? The selection was quite good, including the aforementioned breakfasts in a bag. They have little bagies of things like waffles or omelets. You grab one, pop it in the microwave and PRESTO! Food! Simple things really amuse us a lot.

The hotel had a pool that we sat by one night. It was of a good size and had a nice deck/patio area.

The hotel was well kept and was a good value. I'd recommend it for anyone going to Wake Forest or to any of th nearby towns, even Northeast Raleigh. It's not all that far away. We're moving there in a few weeks and may stay again while our truckload of belongings makes its way down.
