“Older property, but very nice.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

Don't let some of the lower ratings for this property scare you. This is an older Hampton Inn, however there are no problems. The staff is very responsive and friendly, and the property is clean and tidy. Check in was a breeze. Our room was clean, all the furniture was clean. The shower was lacking a little. The shower head was loose coming out of the wall and it was a little shaky, but worked just fine (room 158). Breakfast was hot and fresh. The two older ladies who kept everything filled up were very friendly and helpful. I did use the fitness center twice. All the equipment was new and worked. I have read they remodeled the lobby recently, and that was obvious. I also read they were renovating the rooms in 2014, but I could not tell that ours needed it.

Staff was very helpful with directions and things to keep my family entertained while I worked. They all made us feel like family while we stayed there. We were always greeted with smiles and during breakfast always offered refills for our coffee and juice. the cleaning staff was always very helpful and did a great job on the rooms, Mary in housekeepimg always cleaned our room fast and to meet our standards. Naki at the front desk always kept us laughing and feeling like family.

Room Tip: whirlpool suites are very comfortable when traveling with families.

Very standard, on the low side of standard. We were on the first floor, a tiny room, the smallest Hampton Inn room we have ever been in. Heard a dog bark next door, several times, will never stay on the ground floor again. The soft furnture had spots, the desk chair would not hold, and had a tear, the linens were a little on the off white color. The bed was barley OK, low to the floor, and we could feel the edge of the matress on the bed. The breakfast was OK. Very good coffee. The staff in the dining room was very nice. The front desk at check-in and later wasn't so friendly. Probably will not stay there in the future.

The remodeling of this hotel looks wonderful. Great improvement from my first stay a year ago. The staff always gives excellent service. The breakfast is ok, I would suggest better "hot item" choices such as real eggs, bacon or sausage.

Nothing really stands out for this hotel. It is a standard Hampton Inn hotel and i stay at a lot of them throughout the year. No surprises and no disappointments. The room was clean and check-in was a breeze. Staff was friendly and willing to give me directions downtown to the main street. I will stay here again.

The staff at the Wake Forest Hampton Inn really pulled it out for this older facility. For my husband and I, it was very convenient to my parents' home. The hotel was was clean, but older when it comes to room infrastructure. Taking a hot shower was a bit of a challenge considering their was little to no water pressure. The coffee was great in the lobby and parking was a breeze. Due to the age of this facility, they may want to consider reducing the nightly rate a bit. In September 2012, I stayed in another major chain hotel in Raleigh for about $20 less per night and it was of much higher quality.

My Mom and I stayed here one night while in the area for a family event. I booked it as a rewards night and for free, this was great. But I did notice a couple of things that I should include in the review. The room was fine in terms of furniture, bed was comfy and clean. However the tub was stained, there were a couple of pieces of paper on the floor missed by housekeeping, the remote on the tv was marginally working, and the hair dryer didn't initially work in the bathroom. It was the type attached to the wall. I realized it had the type of plug that has a safety breaker in it, so I hit that and a big light came on in the bottom of the dryer and it was fine. My point about the light is that housekeeping should have noticed this was tripped and fixed it before we got into the room. The room was quiet and had a large mini frig and a microwave. The breakfast was typical but the ladies stocking it were exceptional and friendly. The front desk staff was also wonderful and helpful. I would go back again.
