“AWESOME Expereince”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2012

I highly recommend Appalachian Rivers for your white water rafing experince. John was our guide. He was fun, friendly and adventurous. He asked us what our comfort level was and made the trip exciting. We got wet, bounced off rocks and twirled around on purpose. We even stopped to jump off a huge rock into the cold "nany" river. HIghtly recommend this company!!

“Fantastic introduction to the Nantahala”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012

Just finished our run down the Nantahala River with Jay as our guide from Appalachian Rivers Rafting outfitters. What a great time!!! Jay was knowledgable and courteous and gave us a fun and exciting trip. Highly recommend this outfitter - competent and affordable, bonus, hot showers at the end- overall great experience!!!

“Simply the best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2012

My group has been working partners with App Rivers for several years now and we love coming down to see them quite frequently. They are very accommodating and friendly and always seem to go above and beyond what is expected of them. Dave and Natalye work very hard to make sure that our group is always running on time and that we have everything we need. John (owner) always seems to have something in mind to make our experience better and works to keep us as loyal customers. It has truly become a home away from home for so many of us in Indiana. Thanks to App Rivers for the many years of great service and fun!

“Great (but WET!) fun had by all!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2011

This is our 2nd year going white water rafting with this outfit on the "Nanny." We had 8 people ranging from 8 yrs old on up to 67 yrs. doing this river run and we all had a blast! No one fell out this year either! There mostly Class II rapids on this river, with one Class III at the end. We all think that is plenty enough for us! My favorite is Pyramid Rock because they actually run into the rock and then spin you off of it. Exciting! The scenery is top notch! You might even see the train go by.

Both years we have had wonderful guides. I would advise that you have a guide in your boat. Last year one of our boats didn't have a guide and someone fell out. Plus, the guides know the river way better than you will unless you are on it alot.

The guides are informative and alot of fun to hang out with. They are very concerned with safety and give you a "lesson" in safety before the run starts. Pay attention!

The water is pretty cold - in the 50's. Don't wear cotton, wear swimsuits and if you think you might be chilly wear some sort of water shirt or work out shirt (like Under Armour). You can bring bottled water to stow in the edges of the raft. They also rent wet suits and neoprene socks.

Have fun!
