The Maropeng Visitor Centre is part exhibition, part theme park, but does a great job at telling the story of the development of mankind in Southern Africa. There is lots to appeal to children, especially the theme park style boat ride, but it's done well enough to please and inform our party of three seniors. The building itself is of architectural merit and worth seeing. Seniors and students get a discounted entrance ticket. We also visited the Sterkfontein Cave and the two attractions made a great day out from Pretoria. Plan to eat lunch at Maropeng, which has a much better restaurant than the limited offering at the Sterkfontein Cave.
