“The best you ever had.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014 via mobile

First, let me address the"Dirty" review. For a business that's lasted in this community for more than 40 years, they must be doing something right. You should be ashamed of yourself, being a local, and belittling a local establishment. Twin Lakes is at the top of the list of places to eat that is clean, good quality of food and wonderful service. If you are not a food critic then hush!

“Great, local spot for seafood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

If you are in the Sunset Beach area, I definitely recommend giving twin lakes a try for a casual seafood dinner. We debated between Boundary House (where we have dined before) for a dinner with 10 people, and decided to try Twin Lakes. It is broken into different rooms and sections so isn't as loud as the Boundary House setup. The menu is extensive with options for fried and broiled seafood, non-seafood options, senior citizen menu, and many children's options. Everyone was pleased with their selections! The decor is a bit tacky seafood stop compared to Boundary House, but I preferred the atmosphere for conversation and also enjoyed their seafood options. I am not a hush puppy fan, but everyone else gave them a thumbs up (grits were great too!).

“Dirty”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014

If you like mediocre at best food in a dirty restaurant this is the place to go. Like most locals, we would never eat in this place.

“Good place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

My husband and another couple went to dinner here while in ocean isle beach. The service was very good as was the food and drinks. The waitress was friendly and we enjoyed ourselves. Also, the cheesecake was excellent. Would definitely go here again.

“A bit disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

During our vacations at Sunset Beach we have often eaten at Twin Lakes. In the past the food has been very good - especially the fresh fish and shrimp. This year it was not. It was just ok.
At one point the condensation from an overhead vent started dripping on us while we were eating. After telling the waitress, she sent over a young man to mop it. He sort of wrangled his position around us while he mopped overhead. Really?!
