I was on a cross country motorcycle trip and found myself overnighting in Statesville. Stumbled on Logan's Roadhouse thinking "This place looks inviting and hey! I's off the grid"... actually Logan's is a chain but since they're fairly new to northern California I'd never heard of them.
Anyways... pleasant surprise. I ate dinner at the bar as I usually do when I'm on my own. BTW... This is a peanut-shells-on-the-floor kinda place, just so ya know.
One of my favorite things to do when I go to a restaurant that's off the grid is ask the waiter/bartender "I'm only coming here once in my LIFE, I've got one shot at this, what menu item on this menu do I NEED to order? Usually the food that they're proudest of is the best they have. Works for me.
The bartender was very cordial and helpful and suggested the ribs. So I had the barbequed ribs which were done to absolute prefection, they must've cooked those babies for days. You could suck the meat off the bone without ever having the bone touch your lips! I left there stuffed and delighted that I'd found the place. A GREAT value for your money.
I couldn't tell you if all Logan's are alike in this regard but you can be sure that I think the folks in the kitchen here are truly gifted.
