“Cute Little Shop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

I had read previous reviews and thought we would be seeing some chairs being made. That much was a disappointment. However, we did see a nice selection of chairs, woodwork and beeswax candles. Some is pricey, some is a good deal. The craftsmanship is quite good, however. Bottom line: nice shop, but don't expect anything else. Little extra tidbit, you will probably have to park across the street. There is no actual parking lot.

“THIS IS A PLACE LIKE NO OTHER!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

Now, this is a seventh generation business. Orval Woody made chairs for famous people and also one for me which will be given to the next generation of my family. His chairs are expensive and the reason for that is that they are not made with glue or nails. They are made with green wood and when it dries, it makes the creation so tight that nothing can undo it. He had a chair in his shop that was 100 years old, he stood it up on one of it's ends and stood on it and it held him up. We could not believe it! He even took us back into his shop and showed us how he made his chairs, we just loved his tours, we stayed there over an hour! His nephew is now running it and he is a Craftsman just like Orval, a very interesting man. Please stop in and visit a while, they have all kinds of things from bowls, chairs, to toothpick holders, just take your pick! I assure that you will leave there with more knowledge than what you came with!

“Special place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

This is a very special place with a lot of history? Orval Woody made chairs for John and Caroline Kennedy when they were in the White House! Their chairs are pieces of art and are hand made with love. They are expensive but so worth it. It's a fun place to find other nice wood bowls, spoons etc.
