“Fun decor, average food.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

The old Pharmacy is interesting, maybe not as much like a Pharmacy as I expected though. I was hopeful the chicken crepes were as good as they sounded. They were bland and the chicken chunks too large and not as flavorful. The crab in phyllo was bland as well. The small salads were served with a tasty house dressing. The waitress was good, helpful. They only stay open until 8:00 at night.

“Worth Your Time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

The Pharmacy is a little hole in the wall in Southport with a rich history. It used to be a real pharmacy...which has been converted to a quaint restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a gorgeous wooden bar area and original brick lining the walls. The cuisine choices are varied and the 4 meals we ordered were scrumptious, including homemade ice cream to die for. The staff was warm and welcoming. It was a pleasant change from the average restaurant visit and if we ever return to the area we will definitely revisit The Pharmacy!

“Excellent Lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

While vacationing on the outer banks of North Carolina my family and I had lunch at the Pharmacy in Southport, North Carolina. We ordered, Fish Tacos, Crab Cakes, Tomato Mozzerella Stacks and wine. Because we shared bites with each other, I can report that everything was delicious. Also it is located in an old pharmacy building so the location and decor were charming. One warning, this is not an inexpensive restaurant.

“Great decor! Superb service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

Visiting a friend in Southport and she recommended The Pharmacy. So, we spent the morning shopping and went in around noon. All the tables were taken but one opened up within five minutes, and was quickly cleaned, new white butcher paper was set, and drink orders appeared pretty fast. There seemed to be a waitress shortage, and I have never seen a waitress move as quickly as ours did. In less than ten minutes we were served a scrumptious chicken salad, crisp pickle, nestled on fresh lettuce. The price was reasonable, portion more than adequate, and the ambiance was perfect. Before I left I snapped a picture of the spectacular hardwood floors which lend a bit of flair to the over all decor. All in all, a more than satisfactory experience, and one I would definitely enjoy next visit.
