“Beautiful Course”

Loved this course! Enjoyed the par 5's and the 4's were truly great! Great walking course and hard enough to be fun!

Great staff - the best in the area!! Great burgers, BLTs, wings, parmesan Chips are a real specialty - not found at other restaurants!! Drinks are cold and made professionally!! It is the staff and their attentiveness that put them over the top!!

“Welcome Back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

I haven't played at Founders in a non-tournament mode in more than a year. The course is being very well maintained and the greens are very well taken care of. Sand traps were all raked and there weren't any footprints in them -- players here tend to know how to be courteous. Staff, both at the bag drop and in the pro shop, were very friendly and helpful. I was able to play on my own which enabled me to work on my new clubs a bit -- really need some more help here. Pace of play was very good as the foursomes were very conscientious about keeping up. Although I was a singleton I never had to wait as I was able to experiment a bit with my clubs.

“Agree with Peter B.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

The Founders Club is on the marshes and has the most beautiful setting in all of St. James and it is wasted by keeping it closed. Yes, one can get a simple, mediocre lunch, but Founders used to be a place where all the neighbors could meet in the evenings at THEIR neighborhood club and relax and get to know fellow residents of the Founders neighborhoods. Management has been literally begged for even one weekend night per week and gives every excuse imaginable. We have requested Deli Night, Pizza Night, Tapas Night and they answered with formal, stodgy buffets that nobody wants and then when response was poor, they lock the doors tight at night, saying we can go to Players or Reserve which are not our neighborhood clubs or (shudder) Tommy's which has tables you stick to and is full of flies. They say if they re-open Founders even for just Friday or Saturday nights, that will be 60 people who won't go to the other venues. Not true. It would be 60 people who are now staying at home. Listen to your members, Troon Management. One regular night each week is all anyone is asking for and you will see added revenue - not fewer people at the other locales.

“Wish this was open for dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2012

Nice place, great outdoor balcony and view of the marsh area. Should be open to serve dinner as it once was.
