“It reminded me of Tampa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

We had a lovely dinner at the Mambo Grill. Our Groupon coupon gave us one appetizer to share and any two entrees. It was hard to make the selections since it all looked so good. We both had the Cuban style steak. My steak was stuffed with shredded pork which was excellent. The portions were huge and we were both unable to finish dinner. The waiter was very helpful and kept our water glasses filled. Mambo's reminded me of all the mom and pop Cuban restaurants in Tampa. We will definitely come back.

“Premium Dish is "Delish"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

I beg to differ with the customer that was unhappy with his Mahi Mahi. My husband and I have deemed Mambo Grill our new favorite restaurant. The Mojitos were mixed perfectly. The Mahi Mahi with Shrimp in Lobster Sauce was cooked to perfection. Everything on the menu that we have tried has been extraordinary. Save room if you can for a cup of cuban coffe and a piece of tres leches cake. The prices are very reasonable, both the entrees and drinks are quite affordable. Lastly, the staff is friendly and very efficient, they make you feel right at home

“Cuban delite!...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

This Cuban restaurant was great. We started out with appetizers which was a variety of finger foods like, mini empanadas, fried sweet plantains etc. We also had a Peruvian beer but the bar can prepare a variety of mixed drinks. The entrees are well priced and the food portions are very generous. Desserts are great not just your typical flan.

Make reservations before you go because this place is very busy from Friday thru Sunday. Casual dress is fine. There is also outside seating when the weather is warm. The waiting area is small and there is no seating available while you wait.. The staff is very friendly and eager to please. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.. .

“What a great find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

We decided to try this place on Valentine's night, and we are so glad we did. The place was crowded, and we didn't have a reservation, but the staff welcomed us and encouraged us to hang out by the bar until something opened up. We ended up sitting at the bar, and this turned out to be a great choice. Let's start there - the bartender really knows what he is doing. We tried 3 different drinks (it's Valentines Day, OK) and all were excellent. I have had Mojitos all over the Carribbean and in the US, and these matched up favorably to any I've had anywhere. The staff at this place are so friendly and welcoming, you really feel like they have known you forever with the friendly chatter and helpful recommendations. And the food is excellent. From appetizers, through entrees, to Cuban coffee (the bartender and hostess competed to see who could make the best coffee, and both were good), nothing disappointed. The Ropa Vieja was outstanding, and the fried plantains are some of the best I have had anywhere. I'm not sure this place qualifies as a secret, since they seemed to have a pretty steady crowd, but it was a surprise for us. We will definitely make this place a regular restaurant stop as we enjoyed our evening so much.
