“Nice location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013 via mobile

Decent place to stay. A little outdated. Could not open blinds as opened out to a walkway. Okay for the night. Also went to restaurant on site as not a lot of decent options nearby. Waitress friendly but constantly trying to up-sell everything, got a little annoying when an ordinary meal costs close to $40.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We stayed two nights here so that we could explore the fantastic beaches and bays in the area. The first room we were given was facing a passage way and therefore dark and unfriendly. We were then allocated another better room facing the internal courtyard.
The room was big with a comfortable bed and a large spacious bathroom. Everything was clean and well kept. Car could be parked directly outside the room.
Although the hotel is facing the sea, we unfortunately had absolutely no view of the sea and the harbour opposite.
We ate dinner on both evenings in the restaurant. The food was good and enjoyable. However, a wait of over an hour for the main course to be served on the first evening and a wait for over 30 minutes on the second evening for the food to be served was unacceptable. On both occasions we complained and received neither an acceptable answer nor an apology. Not even a dessert or a coffee was offered as a sign of good will.
One of the young ladies at the reception was unfriendly and seemed put out that she had to check us in. The remaining staff members that attended us were polite and friendly.
A pity for what was otherwise a good place to stay!

We had a queen room for two that was spacious, clean & comfortable with a very nice bathroom. Upon enquiry a seniors rate was available, which brought the room cost down to $126.00. Parking was available in front of our room. We found it a little noisy though (no fault of the motel) as the town's Festival of the Wind was on & there was loud live music playing behind the motel until late. The motel has a restaurant which we found a little disappointing. The bar & wait staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming. I ordered the Surf & Turf & asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare. What arrived was done well beyond this and the meat was very bland. In addition, the scallops were way underdone & inedible. Having pointed this out, it was relayed to the chef who agreed with my comments &, to his credit, relayed an apology. On the other hand, my wife's fillet mignon was perfectly cooked, so perhaps my experience was a one-off. The motel is really well-located, facing the waterfront & only a short walk to the town centre.

Room Tip: If appropriate, ask for the seniors rate.

Stayed in a 2bedroom apartment..modern looking two story house . Ground level has 2 x br (one double and one with single and bunks), separate toilet, bathroom with shower and a laundry. Upstairs is a huge open plan kitchen/living area with tv sterio and a large balcony with BBQ. Has all mod cons with air con.It was good value for two couples, A nice slow walk got us into town, All in all i'd recommend and would stay here again.

We stayed one night at this motel on our coach tour. The manager came on to our bus to welcome us personally, which we all appreciated. The room was spacious with a very comfortable standard double bed and a luggage shelf long enough to take both our suitcases - how sensible! The bathroom had a bath and a separate shower cubicle with curtain. All was spotlessly clean. I made use of the guest laundry, which was priced at A$2.50 each for the washer and the dryer plus A$1 for powder. It was great that the Wifi was free of charge and seemed a good connection. There was a small swimming pool with sun beds around it but we didn't have time for a swim. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful and this motel is well located - right on the sea front - ideal for bracing walks in this breezy town.

Room Tip: The rooms are all on the ground floor with parking right outside the door. The whole location seemed...

Reception was extremely busy on arrival but receptionist was very apologetic and friendly.Room is basic but very clean and has plenty of storage and well set out.A bonus of an older style means the shower is fantastic and plenty of hot water.position is handy directly opposite water so handy for morning walks. All staff friendly and helpful and meals delicious.I will stay here again even just for the food and a great shower !

We booked in initially for two nights and ended up staying three nights. Car park right outside the room was a bonus. Clean and comfortable - would definitely recommend this motel - only minor down-side was the food - bit over-priced. But overall, happy with this motel.
