“Perfect Cottage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

We stayed in Autumn Abode Cottage 2 and it was perfect. The cottage was so cosy and very clean. The complimentary bottle of wine, biscuits and chocolates was a great way to welcome us to the cottage. The cottage has everything you need to have a great holiday. The beds are very comfortable and the heating is very good. The cottage is very close to the center of Bright, which is such a beautiful town. We love this place and will definitely be back next year.

We stayed for 2 nights in cottage 7 in September 2013, the Autumn Hues cottage. The location is perfectly positioned only being a five minute walk or ride into Bright along the rail trail. Being close to all Bright has to offer, including the lovely cafes and restaurants, shops and parks. The cottage itself was simply beautiful with stylish French provincial furnishings which was very clean, cosy and welcoming with complimentary wine, chocolates and biscuits on arrival. Cooking facilities are limited but useful..I had my 19 month old daughter with us and was able to cook for her with no problems. The bedrooms are a little small, however they do have double built in robes. The linen was fresh, clean and stylish. My absolute favourite had to be the gardens which are just beautiful including a lovely area to sit outside and enjoy a drink or have a BBQ. The entire experience was very relaxing with a lovely atmosphere and we definitely will be back.

Stayed for 3 nights in Cottage 1 with a double room. The cottage is perfectly placed, just off a quiet cycle and walking path and only 5 minutes walk into Bright which has plenty of restaurants, cafes, supermarket, gift shops, etc.

The well maintained little garden (lots of blue fairy wrens) and seating area is at the front of the cottage, which has pretty hill views. Very clean, well equipped, warm and comfortable, with a welcoming bottle of wine and chocolates!

Handy for walks and picnics by the river, drive up Mount Buffalo with pretty waterfalls and views, visit local villages and wineries, also lots of farms selling cheese, berries, nuts, etc. to call in as you pass.

Excellent value. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Cycle hire available in Bright - $22 for half a day.

We stayed in Cottage no. 2 which was very clean and beautifully decorated in a French provincial style. The location was fantastic being a short stroll from Bright town centre and across the road from the river and it's walks. Being the middle of winter the heating was well utilised and kept us toasty warm. The booking process was simple and efficient and despite checking in after hours, all was in order with lights and heating on and wine, chocolates and cookies waiting for us. Bedrooms are small but the beds and bedding were comfortable with plenty of storage for clothes. The only gripe was the cooking facilities as they are extremely limited, there was just a portable stove top which I managed to find in the cupboard, and microwave, so we could never stay longer than a night or two at a time, which is a shame, but then if you can afford to eat out for most of your holiday it wouldn't matter so much. We would definately consider returning if we could afford not to cook.

We stayed in Cottage 2 for 2 nights - the good things are that it's very clean, convenient to the town. There's nothing that really makes it stand out as a memorable experience, some things that could make it more inviting would be some small extras in the kitchen, balsamic, olive oil, some nice toiletries in the bathroom. My daughter found the bed in bedroom 2 very uncomfortable.

Thank you for your review. We always appreciate guests taking the time to provide feedback as these comments can help to improve our guests experience. It is great to hear that our cottages are considered very clean and people enjoy their great location. We believe these are just two of many things that make a stay with us special.

Naturally, it is disappointing to learn that a guest hasn't found her stay memorable. Fortunately the vast majority of our guests enjoy their stay at our cottages. We regularly receive comments that little touches including complimentary local wine, Lindt chocolates, homemade biscuits, guest toiletries and quality bed linen exceed their expectations. Our guests regularly mention that the cottages provide a "home away from home feel".

For environmental reasons we provide quality complimentary toiletries in a dispenser rather than individually packaged.

While we haven't had any comments about the comfort of our single beds to date, we will investigate as we are always keen to ensure our guests are as comfortable as possible.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Autumn Abode on the recent long weekend, and we owe this review to Gil and Lars for such a great experience. We arrived late and it was cold, but the cottage was lit and warm which, along with the chocs and wine was a welcome homely touch. The cottages are close to town and well equipped with everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable getaway. Special thanks to Gil who found my boyfriends iPod after we left, got in touch and sent it back to Melbourne for us, we are very grateful.

We recommend these cottages to anyone visiting the Bright area and will definitely return in the future.

I returned to Autumn Abode Cottages one year after my first visit and my experience was even more memorable the second time. The quaintness and comfort of the cottage really made me feel I'd taken a break from everyday life. Plus, I simply enjoyed the experience of being there: nice outdoor surroundings; quality furbishings; and the beautiful township of Bright nearby in its full colourful Autumn glory.
I'll certainly be returning.
