Having checked out the reviews on Trip Advisor for my first trip the Barossa, I was incredibly glad I'd booked an evening at Ferment Asian (their first night open for 2013). Crisp white linen table clothes, minimalist decor and impressive wine list perfectly compliment the menu.
One of the things that tends to annoy me with most eateries these days is that the serving sizes are enormous, making it nigh on impossible to get through more than one dish... which, in my mind, kind of spoils the whole idea of dining out... so I loved the serving sizes at Ferment Asian which were comparably modest, allowing my husband and I to share an entree, with a main and dessert each, as well as sides of steamed rice and Asian greens. It was such a joy to try so many dishes and flavours in the one meal. All of which were delicious (particularly the pork belly).
The entire meal, including drinks was about $72 p/head - which, I consider excellent value.
I'll definitely be visiting again on my next trip to the Barossa.
