“WOULD DEFINITELY STAY AGAIN”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2011

What a wonderful property. Sandra has thought of absolutely everything - the cottages are very well planned and are fitted out with quality fittings and furniture. Whilst there we had a cold night and the fireplace was very warming. The provisions supplied, as part of the tariff were fantastic, plenty of food for breakfast both mornings. Sandra'a red wine was also a very good drop. Easy access to lots of wineries, very peaceful accommodation in a lovely environment.
If you are thinking of staying in the Barossa region check this one out, you won't be disappointed.

As soon as my partner and i walked into the room we both said 'wow' simultaneously because it really is just stunning. Has a lovely French feel to it and the breakfast that was provided (we cooked it ourselves) was amazing - especially the bacon! Everything was super fresh, including the bread that was baked just before we arrived.

Like others have said, the bathroom is quite large but i absolutely loved it! A big spa to slide into with a wee candle next to it. The living room has an enclosed fire place, which is full of wood all ready to go, great to snuggle up on the couch and watch a good film! The place really it incredibly romantic and i'm so glad we decided to stay here.

The owner was very sweet and bubbly but she was not in faces and we were left to our own devices once shown around. It was in an ideal location, 2minutes from the town but close enough in the hills to feel secluded. Bethany is a really lovely wee place.

Wish we could have stayed longer! We will definitely be returning.

Staying at these cottages was both very relaxing and very peaceful.

Sandra was extremely warm, welcoming and helpful. we arrived late on Good Friday and Sandra ensured that we had sufficent supplies in the cottage for us to cook an evening meal. Nothing was too much trouble and the bottle of their own vineyards wine on arrival was lovely after the long journey to get there.

The Breakfast provisions was ample and all from the local area. A genuine advertisment for the food and wine of the Barossa

Sandra was also full of helpful information as to what areas and wineries to visit. Her passion for the Barossa was evident.
The rooms were well equipped and very comfortable, the location was convenient.

We were made to feel at home and when I next stay in the Barossa, my only accommodation of choice will again be at Barossa Vineyard Cottages.

We were 4 couples traveling together so booked out the 4 cottages and made full use of the facilities including the wonderful new Gazebo and BBQ. The cottages are spacious and well equipped and Sandra provided the most amazing range of breakfast provisions including freshly baked bread. We all agreed that the cottages were just wonderful and great value for money.

Loved our night here in the cottage. Wish we could have stayed longer as it was so peaceful and quiet. Had the best sleep for months. Great service from Sandra who made fresh bread for us and allowed us to stay longer the next day. We had not booked and found the cottages by chance but we were made very welcome anyway. If you like a cosy cottage in a quiet location in the beautiful Barossa this is the place for you.

Overall I'd recommend the Cottages however we had a mixed experience. Our cottage had an amazingly-large spa tub and a useful kitchen with all the necessary cooking tools. However the bedroom and lounge area both seemed cookie cutter. There was very basic furniture that didn't blend together in any way.

Plus, when staying at a bed and breakfast type place like this, you come to expect a personal greeting and farewell from the owners. I've stayed in similar cottages or retreats in the Yarra Valley and in wine regions in the States and have appreciated a warm welcoming from such owners. We saw one member of the family, who we guessed to be the son, for one minute who pointed toward our cottage and said it was unlocked for us.

One other complaint is that the full rate was charged to our credit card two months before our stay without any notification. If it's their policy to charge the full amount so far in advance, we were not informed of this. And that's a rather unusual policy anyway.

Allow time in the morning to cook your own breakfast, too. The breakfast supplies are delicious (fresh bread, eggs, bacon, tomatoes, fruit, yogurt) though!

The cottages are actually two duplex buildings with 4 in all. They are very new and well appointed with ridiculously large bathrooms with what seems are the customary spas. I guess someone must want them.

Lack of room and general 'feet up' furniture in lounge area, but otherwise good design. Still finishing off landscaping. Located at the back of a working vineyard, adjacent to railway line, but never heard a train.

The laundry is between the units which is great, but means that if someone has the dryer on all night you can hear it against the wall.

Small criticisms. Would recommend it.

Good value, and really nicely done.
