“Amazing Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

The breakfasts here are superb, we were house sitting in the area and had tried several places to find a good start to the day, then we stumbled across Cafe Y. The owner treated us as if we were special guests, but he does this for all. The food is all locally sourced and the bacon is superb, as is everything else. The location is excellent as well, located near the McGuigan wineries, there is a view of the lake from the restaurant. If you're in the Barossa start your days here!

“Outstanding location and Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Visited this restaurant yesterday (29 July). Met friends there, first time for the four of us. Fabulous setting, the creek next to the restaurant was flowing. Lots of bird life and ducks and a few rabbits running around. The restaurant serves lunch all day so there was no rush. Exceptional first class friendly service. It was a long lunch for us with really good fresh food and coffee. Our waiter Johnathon did an excellent job and at the end of our meal owner Nick checked with us to ensure we were happy with everything. His son Ilias and wife Mary also took time to talk to us. Wine list is good and prices are reasonable. We took a bottle and bought one there. Corkage is $15. One of the best restaurants (although its called "cafe" ) that I have been to in the area.

“Fantastic food and superb service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013 via mobile

My boyfriend and I randomly came across this restaurant on trip advisor when looking for a place to eat in the Barossa Valley. We were delighted with the friendly waiters and terrific service. We had a romantic view of the lake and the atmosphere was very warm. I had the king George fish special and my boyfriend had the Greek lamb. Both delicious with generous servings. I also couldn't resist the chocolate fondant with raspberry source and ice cream which was cooked to perfection. Furthermore, the coffee was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would eat here again in a heart beat.

“Outstanding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

The word 'Cafe' does not do this place justice, although it does set you up for a lovely surprise on your first visit, unless you've read all the reviews and know what to expect! From the service to the beautiful setting to the food, it is all class. They could easily become a formal restaurant overnight just by calling themselves a restaurant, having a dress code and getting some better chairs!
Firstly, the venue is delightful, with floor to ceiling glass showing off the stunning rural scene with the North Para River right outside (admittedly more of a creek in these parts, but still gorgeous). As you drive along the winding road to get there, you feel as if you are getting lost, in a good way, and that you are on a bit of an adventure, discovering something a bit out-of-the-way.
For a place with such a large seating capacity, it still somehow feels fairly intimate, and the personal attention you get from the wait staff adds to that. There are no noisy kids running around (although it was nice to watch some exploring the creek line), no flat screen TVs and no cask wine! I have had seafood each time I've gone there and it has been superb, but I can't wait to try their wood oven pizzas and weekend roasts one day.

“Best restaurant in barossa!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

This was by far myself and my friends favourite place during our stay in barossa . It is a more relaxed style of dining but we felt it suited the town atmosphere the best (more so than 1918 restaurant )
Service is very friendly and the view is great.
Went there for a long Sunday lunch and the food was amazing pork belly was very generous serving and perfectly cooked as too was the slow cooked lamb. apparently the pizza is great here too
