“What a lovely surprise!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

We 'stumbled' over this restaurant during a recent visit to the Barossa. It is right next to McGuigan winery and is in a stunning location. The food was exceptional. We shared the zucchini kroketas to start and they were lovely, light and delicious. We then shared one of the day's specials which was a wood fired lamb rump cooked with Greek flavours on a bed of salad. It was delicious. The lamb was cooked medium rare and melted in your mouth.
It seems to be a small family run restaurant so I could imagine that they could easily be overrun if they had too many walk ins arriving at the same time, but we were there on a quiet Thursday lunch and the service was great.
We also enjoyed the stories of Christmas and Easter - the family geese that roam around the grounds!
If only we lived in South Australia. I could imagine this place becoming one of our favourites.

“Wouldn't even let us in”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

We are locals we took some friends there last wknd we were greeted by a young girl at the door saying sorry to give you bad news but we're not serving for another hour. the place was busy but there were still vacant tables in and out. we only wanted a coffee and was told to go to the lyndoch bakery for a coffee while she was closing the door on me! very rude our visitors couldn't believe it. My partner and i had been there in Feb on a Wednesday there were only four other people there and the service was great. just silly that when they have a few more customers the staff become rude won't be going back again

“What a wonderful surpprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

This was a first time visit and I must say it was well worth the trip from Adelaide. We took some visitors from the UK and they were most impressed. The service was excellent and the food was great, in fact I had a pizza and it is the best one I have ever had so will certainly be returning again. The ambience was lovely with a nice relaxed friendly atmosphere.
