Let's not talk about the way this restaurant is set up. Suffice it to say that when it comes to interior design, ambience and initial impressions, this place doesn't pass muster. But for friendliness and the quality of the food, you won't find much better in the area. The prices aren't cheap by local standards but being from Perth, we thought pricing was reasonable. The menu matches the decor in that it's 70's retro. Creamy sauces with everything, choice of mushroom, pepper or gravy! But wait, the wine list is extensive and really interesting so maybe things might improve. We had a fillet stake without sauce and it was beautifully trimmed, cooked to perfection and full of flavour, accompanying chips were light, crisp and well presented. Salad and vegetables were also excellent, varied, thoughtful and nicely presented too. Whoever inhabits the kitchen makes this place (front of house staff were also friendly, caring and professional) and the decor can be easily forgiven- someone obviously loves it!
