“Sparkling and delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2011

This is a sparkling new place in a very hip winery. The restaurant overlooks an ancient redgum surrounded by vineyards and the Barossa hills in the background. We were at the beginning of a two day winery tour and this was a memorable place to start. The wines on offer were pretty average but the food and service certainly way above. Our party of 8 all left feeling we had a most wonderful lunch (it was part of the touring package). Two thumbs up for the restaurant!

“Consistently fabulous restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2011

We dined at Jacob's Restaurant at the Jacob's Creek Visitors Centre twice recently, both times with visitors to SA ( one group from overseas and one from interstate) and both times we could not fault the restaurant so I am amazed at the other reviews. We eat out at least twice a week and this restaurant is our number one for the year so far. A further point is that Jacobs Restaurant is at Rowland Flat not Lyndoch but I am presuming we are talking about the same place. The service is fantastic, the views are just lovely and the staff really helpful and keen to please. Both times we ordered lunch and then went to taste the wine to make our choice of what we would drink with our meal. The wait staff came and let us know when our meals were ready. We ordered the kangaroo, the fish and the chicken and we all agreed that the the food was lovely and it is very good value for such a top class restaurant. We ordered coffee and petit fours after the main and because the cofee took a while they apologised and gave it to us free. I think it is a fantasic place to have a lovely meal. Our guests were just amazed at the restaurant, particularly the lovely service from dedicated and cheerful staff and the Barossa itself. On our score sheet this restaurant is a 10 our of 10.

“Kitchen staff need quality update”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2011

We went to lunch and ordered the special pumpkin soup and a pizza to share. One waiter showed us to the table, another took our order and another served our lunch. Along the way the kitchen staff ran out of the special pumpkin soup and substituted it with another spicy version without any advice reaching us. Result - we did not like the version we were given. The pizza was something we would have eaten years ago - too much cheese and a big singed bubble on top. The base wasn't tasty. Overall it felt like an experimental pizza and the kitchen staff needed some expert input in how to produce a good product.

“Great food and lovely view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2011

A very good restaurant for what at first appears to be a big commercial tourist attraction. The pre-lunch tasting was good, with staff happy to talk about the wines. The food was very good - both the duck and the kangaroo were delicious and perfectly cooked. The view across the vines to the hills just made it a bit better again.
