We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Country Pleasures in the Rose Cottage. It was just perfect for our needs and there was no detail overlooked. The cottages are spacious yet cosy and are very well equipped for a short or a longer stay. Jo, the owner, is a welcoming and hospitable host who was very kind and helpful and made our stay with our elderly parents a great success. The cottage was spotless - there were lots of fresh towels and the beds were very comfortable. I was particularly impressed and grateful that basic cooking ingredients like olive oil, vinegar and salt and pepper were available along with a good range of pans as we chose to eat in at the cottage at night, taking advantage of Schulz’s, a great butcher in Angaston and other good suppliers. The extensive and quality breakfast supplies, the port and chocolates, the wine and even a selection of fruit epitomises Jo’s attention to detail as well as her generosity. We could choose to sit outside on the back patio and barbecue or on the front porch admiring the lovely garden. It was quiet and private but close enough to the town centre to go for walks and explore the shops. Jo made great suggestions about places to visit and good suppliers. We also felt that Angaston was our pick of the towns in the Barossa with a quieter main street with pretty parks and lovely old houses. We could visit both the Barossa wineries as well as those in the Eden Valley very easily.
