“Excellant holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

3 weeks not long enough. Park facilities excellent. Staff very friendly and we had no trouble in changing site when we gave them plenty of notice. Kim and Paul doing great job with plenty of park activities. Look forward to returning next year for a longer stay.

We could only stay five nights this trip due to work commitments, but had a fabulous time. Our site (304) was absolute beachfront and a quick walk to all facilities. A fundraiser held during our stay was very well organised and well patronised. All the staff (both office and outdoor) are very friendly and helpful. This is our fourth or fifth time in only about three years and we are booked again for a month early next year.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback on your recent stay with us and being a regular visitor to the park.

It was very pleasing to get your feedback, especially in regard to our friendly and helpful staff, they all work very hard to do whatever they can to ensure our guests have a great stay.

Our waterfront sites are absolutely gorgeous, a month stay on one of these will be pure bliss.

Thank you for attending the Lunch for Leukaemia we ended up raising over $3,300 with a fantastic time being had by all.

We look forward to welcoming you back for your month stay next year.

This was our third visit after a huge gap from the previous time we stayed. We have a bigger 5th wheeler this time round and had no trouble setting up due to the spacious sites. The park has had a few changes since we were there, mainly more cabins. However, there were still plenty of powered sites. We even extended our stay as we were enjoying ourselves immensely. The office staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and hugs were shared when we left. There are plenty of activities being organised both for adults and children alike, so heaps to do if you want an active stay. As for us, we just enjoyed using it as a base and met some nice people for afternoon chats. We'll definitely stay again.

It was so nice to hear the glowing feedback on our friendly and helpful office staff, they all work very hard to do whatever they can to ensure our guests have a great stay.

We stayed at the park for a four night stay during July with relatives after initially intending to stay for only three due to a lengthy travelling holiday in our camper trailer. As a result we contacted the park whm said they could accomodate however our reltaives would have to move after the first night, not a drama with their caravan. However on arrival they had positioned us at two opposite ends of the park with no intention of a move after the first night. After checking in we were unable to enter the park as the code did not work and the receptionist did not let us in as promised until I walked back to the reception. On reflection it was a glaring sign to do a u-turn and make hastily for somewhere else.

To top it off they had given us the worst possible sight in the park positioned at the very south eastern end. This location was only 100 metres from the busy gold coast highway and right next to the main walking track that runs along the broadwater. Beyond my understanding the boundary is only a chain fence without a garden and only a few solitary trees offering no privacy.

On setting up we also discovered that the site had water views courtesy of a small swamp that had formed in the days previous to our arrival. The location of the sight was such that we were unable to avoid setting up in the swamp much to the amusement of the walkers and bike riders routinely travelling past. This was made more enjoyable after a four hour trip compounded by three restless children.

After finishing setting up the site I discovered that we had no power owing to the safety switch on the power box being faulty. Now I fully understand that these things happen especially in busy periods. What I couldn't understand was the argument the handyman wanted about being a fault with our equipment. Defeat was only admitted when he discovered that all our electrical items were running from batteries and not the mains power.

During the night we discovered that the adjacent path was a shortcut for inebriated persons and other manner of creten. We were routinely woken by the these persons yelling and shouting (and at one stage exploding drink bottles) which encouraged our children to increase their vocabluary with a variety of four letter words. Of course this noise added to the traffic noise was not conducive to sleep.

The hike to the amenities was compunded by the realisation that every other person camping in ajacent sights were in large recreational vehicles with their own ensuite. It seemed to be an indication that the people who ran the park knew this area was unsuitable for a tent or camper trailer.

On the positive side the pool was lovely.

Our trip could have been made so much better through better organisation of where our sites were. It seems blatently obvious that the south eastern corner is not suitable for camper trailers or tents. It also appears obvious to management as well as we were the only ones not in a RV. Walking in a sleep deprived state past numerous vacant sites over the days we were there added to the ruined feeling of our trip to the Gold Coast.

I can accept that some of the issues are beyond management control, the weather, power problem etc however by better management these would not have affected our trip. I love going to the Gold Coast and never feel like leaving however this time I couldn't get out quick enough. In short, if you have a family and don't have a RV, don't take the risk and go elsewhere.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback on your recent stay with us.

As a management team we and our staff our dedicated to providing memorable holiday experiences for our guests, we are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations.
We strive hard to immediately resolve any guest issues brought to our attention.

In busy periods such as the period you stayed, where we were fully booked over the weekend, we have limited ability to move bookings around, we always strive to meet booking requests of all our guests. Where a guest advises they are unhappy with a site we are happy to review any alternative site options with guests.

We are disappointed that you found the area noisy and we will be closely monitoring that area from now on. We have not previously had any feedback on the south east corner being an issue with external noise and find that it is an area that is popular with families both in large RV's, tents and camper trailers because of the big spacious sites in this area and proximity to the camp kitchen and pool.

We apologise that on arrival the power head was not operational due to a fault with the safety switch, part of our fault finding process is to identify if the cause is something plugged into the pole or a faulty safety switch which is why our staff member would have been questioning you on what was on and assumed it was your equipment as your electrical cord was plugged into the pole and he was not aware you were using 12 volt backup.

Also we are sorry for any inconvenience cuased by not opening the boomgate for you on arrival. As a courtesy we do this if guests will have trouble accessing the control pad, unfortunately on this occasion our reception staff overlooked opening the gate.

Thank you again for taking the time to provide your feedback, we hope you consider returning as our park is a fantastic park for families. If you would like to discuss your experience further please phone our office on 1300 672 730 or e-mail us at mgr.bwater@gctp.com.au as we would be happy to discuss your experience with you personally.

Broadwater Tourist Park at Southport came as a pleasant surprise. Very well located for Gold Coast activities (including theme parks, although we were not interested in the theme parks), but without the frenzy associated with much of the Gold Coast. Powered sites were a very good size and ours had a well maintained and level concrete pad. Cleaning and maintenance of amenities and park facilities was exemplary. We did not expect our brief stay on the Gold Coast to be as enjoyable as it was.

We are so pleased that you were pleasantly surprised.

Our location as you have recognised is fantastic, and we thank you for recognising our staff’s cleaning as exemplary, they work very hard to keep the amenities of such a busy park in excellent condition – we have passed on your feedback which they love to hear.

Our kids loved the heated pools and the beach right outside our villa. The villa was fresh, with good furnishings and appliances. Location good with lots of playgrounds nearby. Also very quiet at night. Lovely verandah with bbq on it. We had a lovely couple of days!

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback on your recent stay with us.

We are so pleased to hear the kid’s loved the pools and beach on their doorstep – there is no better sight than seeing kids getting outside, and enjoying the outdoors which is very easy given our location on the Broadwater, great in park facilities and of course the awesome Broadwater Parklands a short walk from the park.

We look forward to welcoming you back next time.
