“Great Family Swimming Spot”

Beautiful swimming lagoon setting with plenty of shade and BBQ facilities. Lovely view out across Moreton Bay and lots of free parking as well.

“Amazing swimming experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2014

We 'found' this swimming pool as we rode on the fabulous cycleway that follows the beachfront. The day we swam there was virtually no one else at the pool. The access was fantastic with ramps to enter the pool if necessary. It was clean, extremely well maintained, a great spot to get some exercise and above all very safe. We loved it and will return. It's a great example of the council providing the community an area to recreate. Well done, a high benchmark for other councils to follow.

“Family place, busy yet Pleasant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

Settlement cove (swimming lagoon) has a variety of options for families with young children. I visited on Anzac Day with my sister and 5 young children. Small , safe wading pool for the 1 year old, shallow exploratory creek for the 3 year old, and the main lagoon had a shallow edge with a barrier, safe for little ones, then a deeper section for primary school age children. Shady areas were available, and there is also a play ground. The life guards were vigilant. As it was a public holiday it was busy , but families were all having a fun time. The shady areas were welcome and plenty of room to sit and have picnic lunch. Lovely outdoor swimming area for young families.

“Beautiful One Day Perfect The Next”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2014

We think this is where that famous quote "Beautiful One Day Perfect The Next" come about, it just has it all on offer. Pack your picnic for a free, full & fun day or pick up a quick pie, cold drink, iceblock, cuppa & the list goes on, from the food van with fast & friendly service. You could always do a quick shimmer up to street level to find a huge array of takeaway or dine in food options. All the amenities are provided with: toilet blocks with showers, BBQ's, ample Picnic Tables & Barbie's (BBQ), fresh water taps, Life Guard protected swimming in huge picturesque salt water pool, heaps of shady spots, HUGE kids playground and large open grassy spans to run or play... cricket, kick the footy all sitting on the waters edge where it's a common place for fishing. THEN, grab the kids an ice cream & have a stroll along BEE GEE'S Way or that could be a whole other visit to this wonderful area. We've visited many times over the years, as a couple, with our kids when they were younger, with them now as older teens & young adults, with friends, a meeting spot to celebrate special occassions like Easter for the BIG Easter Egg Hunt or a simple stroll along waters edge early mornings or in the cool at sunset....

“What a pooper!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

It's nice, but their sanitary measures need to be addressed. I found a floating log on one trip to Settlement Cove. On alerting the lifeguard he entered the water and scooped the poop with a single bag (I would have preferred the tried and tested double bag approach).

It certainly left a bad taste in my mouth - figuratively speaking of course.

Other than dodging floating logs I enjoyed the facilities.
