“What a find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

A little slice of Heaven & Italy hidden in an obscure arcade of Redcliffe. A retired chef, my husband is not easily pleased or surprised by outside dining experiences. Our taste buds were delighted by the pear and blue cheese bruschetta, chicken cacciatore that fell from the bone, pork belly & potato, & a to die for blueberry torte. All beautifully presented in pleasant surroundings by friendly and helpful staff & owners. We were transported back to last year's holiday in Tuscany. Even my cherished tablecloth was there! Our only downer is not discovering What's in the Pot 8 months ago when it opened!

“A genuine Italian Family Kitchen”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

This isn't food produced for the masses and a menu that is only changed seasonally - you are advised by Facebook of the days specials although there are some stock standards always available.
We visited 3 times this week - once for coffee and twice for dinner - and will be regulars . You could be transported anywhere in Europe with the ambience of the brilliant restaurant owned by Carla and Flori with daughter Elanora . We sampled Slow cooked Tuscan Beef, Rabbit Cacciatora , Cuttlefish Spaghetti Arrabiata and Lam Cutlets through our two nights firstly on our own then with friends. The ingredients are fresh , the recipes are simple and the end product tasty and well presented . Flori works the floor beautifully as Mine Host.
A great starter is the Ciabatta with Blue Cheese and sliced Pear and the Almond and Berry Tart was divine ... dont miss the coffee- a great change from having Merlo and other dross pushed by the masses these days.
For me its a BIG Winner!!! And its in Redcliffe - go figure

“Great addition to the Peninsula”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

We have been to most restaurants on the peninsula and live locally. After finding this new one by chance on Google we were very impressed. The concept of the two menus, set one for the favourites, and a "What's in the Pot" menu for changing specials is a fantastic idea and provides a great range of meal options. My wife had the Black Mussels in white wine sauce and prawn zuppetta and I had the Peposo (another traditional Tuscan dish beef cooked in a good Chianti wine and pepper) served with cannellini beans. Both of these meals were from the "Whats in the Pot" menu. The meals were tasty large portions and great value for money. Flori and Carla provide a relaxed friendly atmosphere, you almost feel like your in their home. Make sure you try one of Flori's creamed coffees. Thanks for a great night guys we will be coming back with out kids next time.

“Great homemade Italian food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

We went to this restaurant based on the Trip Advisor reviews and we weren't disappointed. The food was delicious and tasted authentic. The staff were very friendly and the service was superb. My spaghetti Putanesca was delicious and my wife loved her Leek Lasagne. The food came out quickly . Our host even gave us a complimentary cream espresso which was a great way to finish. We will be back
