“Relax and spend the Day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Queens Park has something for everyone to enjoy. The Nature Centre is free entry but there is an opportunity to make gold coin donation. Bilbies, wombats, echnidas and many more native animals are here for all to see. The Japanese Gardens are a place for reflection and offer many great photo opportunities. The kids play area is handy to the Cafe and Information Centre. There are great walks in the park. Spend an hour or spend the day you won't be disappointed in Queens Park

“peace and quiet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Queens park is one of the gems of Ipswich, not as widely known out of town but definitely well used by the locals at all times of the year. Two of my favourite places in the park are Nerima Gardens and the nature park and while a donation can be left both places are free of charge to visit. Nerima is a wonderfully peaceful gardens built on the Japanese style and is a beautiful place to just walk around and enjoy the surroundings, it is beautifully maintained and lovely to visit all year round. The Nature Park is a big hit with kids of all ages with really good habitat areas for a range of Australian animals, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, bilbies, emus to name a few. There is also a small 'farm zoo' much loved by the younger kids and while it has a 'movable' population it means that there are different animals to be seen on each visit. In both areas of the park it is not unusual to find frilled neck lizards out sunning themselves in warm sunny areas. There is a really good play area in Queens Park and nearby Limestone Park has great walking and fitness tracks. There is a café close by with bathroom facilities so everything is within walking distance. All in all a great place for a visit.

“A great place to relax”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

There has been a lot of work done on this Park in recent times. Not only do they have a great playground that is large and extremely well set out, they also have a small zoo that is a delight. There are plenty of native animals and great walkways. The whole park covers a large area, so that not only could you visit the zoo and the playground, you could have a game of cricket or football, or throw a Frisbee and have plenty of space. The café is also relatively new and the meals and light snacks are well priced and the surrounds of the café are pleasant. All in all, a great place to relax and unwind.

“little oasis, great for kids/picnics or even soltitude”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Queens Park has a little of everything. There is a (native animal) zoo, a (hidden) Japanese Garden, the Visitors Information Centre, a Kiosk (to purchase refreshments), along with picnic BBQs and tables or gazebos, a small waterpark for kids to run through, a flying fox for them to play on along with assorted climbing frames and swings. There is plenty of seating variety as well as an expanse of grass with shade trees around and about. I particularly recommend the Japanese Gardens - where we renewed our vows for our 40th wedding anniversary in the presence of all our children and grandchildren. The photographer was blown away by the backdrops available to choose from there. This is a hidden gem in Ipswich - and FREE.

“Lovely day out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

We have visited twice recently and the second time was much faster due, we think, to the lower numbers. The first time service was slower as the place was packed. With the australian animal area so close it is ideally placed with easy parking. We will go back
