“Wouldn't recommend it every, avoid it!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

After ourW recent stay there I definitely wouldn't recommend staying there to anyone. The caravan park is way to small. The sites are crammed, no room to put our van without other people having to move there vehicles. The staff were very rude in particular the lady who checked us in. We were on a cramped site right next door to the fuel bowsers. With the fuel smell coming over and into our van, which was horrible when you have kids. Had to spend the day out and also dinner just to avoid the intoxicated fumes. The servo was noisy and very busy. Ablution block is at the back of the servo and very dirty, facilities are not up to standard.

In response to this review I would like to point out that this was not our park you stayed at
We are Rainbow Waters Holiday Park and have 23 acres of parkland on Carlo Road.
The park you stayed at must have been the park in Rainbow beach.
If you are ever at Rainbow Beach again we would love you to give our spacious park a try we are sure you will find it an enjoyable experience.

We stayed in a cabin at Rainbow Waters for 1 night on a Saturday night. The park is located about 5 minutes out of town. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again, the cabin was nice inside and was self contained. The only disadvantage was having to bring our own linen however only having paid $75 for the night the price was very reasonable. The main thing we enjoyed was the quiet.

We also found the owners reasonable to deal with - we originally booked to go in February but had to reschedule due to the Gympie floods and they were happy to do this at no charge. Also when we were at the park the male owner was helpful in giving us directions and maps - including details of the shortcut from Rainbow to Tin Can Bay which meant we didn't have to get up as early to go and see the Dolphins.

We arrived late at night (after 8pm) with no booking. The female owner was happy to accommodate us at that time, which was appreciated having 2 young tired kids in the car.
Initially, we were placed right next to another group even though the only other campers were all the way over at the non powered sites. Having two young kids, we were holidaying outside of school holidays to avoid the crowds and have a quiet experience and, we noticed the other group were all older adults and a bit loud, so my husband returned to the office to ask if we could choose our own spot. Thankfully, they allowed us to do so but we also received a "what's wrong with the site we gave you?" which I thought was a bit rude....
The toilets, clean but very old, were really far from the powered sites near the water and the showers were even further (only one amenities block with showers and toilets then another further down the lane just toilets), we actually ended up driving to the showers when we needed to use them which was pretty strange although unfortunately required of us as walking all the way back getting bitten by Mozzies was not desirable to us at all....
Didn't see a camp kitchen down our end at all....which was disappointing.
Mozzies are bloody horrible here!! it had also rained a couple of days before and there were "lakes" everywhere. You had to add a couple more mins to the toilet trip just to walk around the massive puddles!! It was a long dark walk to the toilets and no lights at all near the water side sites, so bring a decent torch. Dreaded the late night kids toilet trips.... What a trek!!
All in all, it's pretty average, don't think I'd go back though....

Room Tip: Request sites close to the amenities block or prepare for a long walk! These sites are far from the...

Save yourself the trouble. The owners are rude, unfriendly and make you feel most unwelcome. They even do the rounds each morning to ensure you have left by the dreaded 10am. The facilities are ordinary and the publicised games room was not even open. To top it off the mozzies are terrible. Disgusting experience!

Great place for tents or caravans - lots of trees and grassy areas. Amenities always clean and staff very friendly and accommodating. The owners managed Easter weekend bookings to ensure the park wasn't packed like "sardine camping"!! Calm water on site - surf beach and main town only five minutes drive away.

My family and I stayed here over the Easter period, the owner (the woman) forget her name, not that it's important anyway, was the most rude and abnoxious person I have ever come across in my entire life, I was truly shocked at the way she treated people that come to pay good money to spend a lovely relaxing week at this park, not to mention, (she is the most money hungry person I've ever met) She almost had me in tears by the way she spoke to me, and the way she was talking to other people that had come to book a holiday as well was just RUDE and unacceptable, why did I stay then? to be honest, if we hadn't of driven such a long way, and if there were somewhere else to stay "believe me" we would have, it's only because everywhere else was fully booked out, that I had to lower my standards and let this bully treat me the way she did, to stay there, I couldn't wait to leave to be honest, I'll NEVER EVER STAY AT THIS PLACE AGAiN EVER!!! P.s the whole park was talking about her and how rude she is.

Kids had a great time face painting, tiedying t shirts, and candle making. Good activities planned. Well run for large park. Coffee on site was great and an added bonus for out stay.

Room Tip: nice shady camp sites
