“Not a four star hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

This is the first time I have written a review on trip advisor but I didn´t want anyone else to book this hotel on the basis of other reviews and its fourth place ranking in hotels in Lloret de Mar. I have stayed in many four star hotels in Europe and have never had such dreadful food anywhere before. There was little choice, dried up fish, meat resembling dog food and dried up vegetables. No hot plates to eat from, no proper cooked breakfast, no bacon at all, eggs which were sometimes cold. I complained to the head chef but he couldn´t have cared less. The room was clean but had a very small bathroom. The location of the hotel is poor, resembling Beirut with backstreets you don,t want to go down in the dark. The only redeeming feature of this hotel is that you can watch BBC1 and 2 so you don,t have to venture out after dark.Lloret de Mar is a run down resort which does not cater for English people: Tossa de Mar fifteen minutes away by bus is Paradise by comparison. I am a teacher so have to go on holiday during peak times. I work hard and will be returning to school more stressed than I was before my holiday. This is not a four star hotel in any way a 3 at best and 1 for food.

Regarding your comments on Tripadvisor,we are very surprised of your bad experience at our
Hotel at which you although stayed one week.
You choose our hotel as you indicated basing on the Tripadvisor ranking which means that we have a lot of good reviews given by other clients and none unfairly offensive as yours!

Stayed for 7 nights May 2013, arrived at hotel late just as restaurant was closing but they made sure we got a good meal before we checked in. I think it was mainly a spanish tourists hotel therefore no full english breakfast but plenty of other choices - pastires, toast, yoghurt, fruit etc. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Maid service excellent, rooms were cleaned everyday with plenty of linen and towel changes. Pool area clean with plenty of sunbeds available. Free spa, indoor pool, gym and sauna again very clean. Short 5 minute stroll to town centre, but bars and shops everywhere. It was very quiet when we stayed but could see the potential of it being a bit noisy from surrounding hotels in full season as other hotels are very close by but they all are in Lloret

Room Tip: Pool views are better for views and for afternoon sun, the other side is probably quieter but shelte...

5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012 via mobile

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of October on a 'room only' basis.
I never used any of the facilities or had any meals in the hotel as it was only used as a comfortable base to explore the local sights & sounds.
The rooms were well equipped, clean, and quiet.
They had all the amenities such as mini fridge, flat screen TV (with all the bbc channels), air con, safe, etc
The hotel was located in a built up area so we had no real view from our balconies apart from the pool.
The hotel was located a short stroll from the vast seafront, bus station or shopping streets.
A very good central location to all.
I recommend the beach bars directly on the beach which offer small, medium, large spirits & cocktails.
The medium rum &coke was literally a foot tall and was not watered down at all.
I also recommend buying combined Barcelona- lloret return coach, city hop on, hop off tour, and nou camp (use hop on off tickets to &from) tickets from the coach station for a combined price of 55 euros

We stayed 5 nights half board in early October 2012. Hotel a little hard to find from the bus station but only a 10 mins walk. We thought the location was great - 5 mins down to the old town and beach area with plenty of shops along the way. Market hall just around the corner and big supermarket only 5 mins. Room was big, large bathroom and balcony cleaned daily to a high standard. We were on the quiet side of the hotel away from the pool. Blocks of residential flats near by made for interesting people watching. As two women travellling together we didn't feel the area was intimidating at all.

Staff in the hotel were friendly and accomodating. Free wifi was a bonus. Both indoor and outdoor pool areas were clean and well maintained. Food was a good if standard selection at breakfast. Dinner was good each night and we are foodies so won't eat rubbish. There is a selection of 2 meat, 1 fish and 1 veg dish. Loads of varied salads, soups, deserts etc. Reasonable priced drinks in the restaurant and bar. Disn't stay in/up for the entertainment.

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room unless you reallly want a pool view.

The rooms are nice and big. The food is good and the people working in the restaurant are really nice. The pool is a big small but it's OK. There is a lot of animation during the day and the evening.
The location is perfect and close to everything.

arrived in lloret 9pm oct 6, and dropped off in what looked like a carpark ,with no sighting of the hotel, pointed in the direction by the driver, we then had to cross two roads and walk about 300meters to the hotel, we found this quite stressful, and could be a major problem for someone infirm having to cart all luggage on the roads,it was dark, and thank goodness not raining,
on entering the hotel we found the reception to be spotlless and very nice.
we were allocated room 502 on the fifth floor, the room although spotlessly clean was a bit on the small side, but with a lovely balcony overlooking the pool, it seemed the hotel had been dropped from the sky , surrounded by the backs of grubby apartment blocks and this was our view for the week.
the pool area was very good with a large circular pool , and a choice of sunbeds (it was october),and an excellent indoor spa, with swimming pool ,gym, sauna etc, brill if the weather was bad, and no extra charge to use.
the big let down for us was the restaurant, although the ambience was nice we found the food on offer to be poor, with very little choice, they had two soup urns marked SOUP but both the same soup, with no labeling of what it was, meat choice was limited, such as chicken breast or meatballs,(no showcooking)
breakfast was the same(no english breakfast here), so again very limited choice, and not worth the effort to get up for, coffee was from a machine and was undrinkable,
so to sum up, the hotel is spotlessly clean throughout, our room was nice, if smallish, and the general facilities of the hotel were first class, location was excellent for the shops, beach ,bar's etc but not for it's views.
would we go back, maybe, but room only.
we gave up on the restaurant by toward the end of the week and ate out at THE ORIENT EXPRESS, really friendly staff, brilliant setting, and good pub grub type food, rcommended.
just as a point of interest, where have all the BRIT'S gone, we were the only ones in the hotel, and we never encountered any out and about either,so it seems the COSTA BRAVA is no longer the place to go, although we found it to be very nice.

Room Tip: get a room with pool view, as this is the only view you'll get, also it has the sun all day.
