“Could Be Better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2014

We returned to the UK on the 5th of June after a fortnight half board at this hotel. Our first impressions were very good.

The public area's were brilliantly clean, tidy and well presented. There is a large pool with plenty of sunbeds and a smaller kids pool. The pool area was cleaned meticulously every morning and evening.

Our room was a good size overlooking the pool and was reasonably well furnished and maintained.

We had maid service every day, but we weren't too impressed by her cleaning. There was dust on the floor every day after the maid had been and although she left clean bed linen a week into our hols, we had to put it on our beds ourselves and leave the used sheets in a pile for her to collect the next day.

The restaurant was ok, but a bit small to cater for the number of guests during busy times. There were two sittings, one from 7.30 til 8.45pm and the 2nd from 8.45 til 10pm. We were on the first sitting, but would have been gutted if we'd been on the second. It's not ideal having your evening meal so late if you've got kids or if you want to have a walk after dinner. All the shops are shut by the time you've finished your meal and there's hardly anyone on the streets apart from people walking from one bar to another.
Even with the sittings in the restaurant, during busy times we had to queue for about 10 minutes. On the odd occasion, there were no tables left and we had to wait for someone to finish before we could get seated.

The food was of a good standard considering the numbers they are catering for. However, it was almost always cold, especially in the evenings. There were two microwaves in the restaurant, which we quickly began to use to heat our food every mealtime..

I don't want to sound picky, but there was a distinct lack of vegetables with the evening meals. There were always some kind of potatoes and usually one other veg. Strange, when they were putting out lovely veg (green beans and ratatouille) at breakfast..., the mind boggles!!!

The hotel is located in Fenals on the outskirts of Lloret and it is much quieter than the main resort. There are a good selection of shops and bars close by and Fenals beach is about a 10 minute walk away. This beach is smaller than the main one in Lloret and the promenade only stretches about a couple of hundred metres. It is not really suitable for an evening stroll. The main beach in Lloret has a nice promenade with plenty of ice cream kiosks etc. Both beaches had very course sand, more like gravel.

I was on holiday with my partner, but felt like it was more of a singles resort with the number of stag & hen doo's we saw in Lloret. Having said that, it didn't bother us, but might bother some.
We always make the most of our holidays and still enjoyed it, but don't think we'd go back in the near future.

Hi me and my extended family went to lloret de mar on the 20th may. There was about 23 of us including 6 children. We all had a fabulous time every single one of us. We went for 5 nights with ryanair and that didn't seem enough. There was so many things to do, the locals are v friendly and many Muslims around. There was many halal places to eat from and the lloret de mar beach was very beautiful the colour was amazing. Going back to the hotel there was many activities for them. They really enjoyed the outdoor pool and indoor (the indoor pool had some kind of chemical which stung our eyes and discoloured our clothes) the best part for the kids was the evening disco, it was brilliant even though they should have more English music. My lil cousins danced all evening. The guest were very friendly we met people from Newcastle and Yorkshire. The staff were very friendly and the rooms very nice value for money. I thought the locals will be racist not knowing what to expect as we wear scarf however to my surprise they were actually very fascinated to see us, the min you say 'Olla' meaning hello they all respond smiling. They are not at all like some of the English you get outside London. My brother even found a halal butchers quite far from the hotel. The best part of the stay was the waterworld. It was just amazing we all had a lot of fun, advice for women who cover we wore the full swimming costume and they refused to let us on the slides . he told us to remove it, There was 10 of us we decided to go and speak to the manager as that's discrimination. If my swimming costume is the material it should be they shouldn't have a reason to refuse. We succeeded and got a red band from the manager so non of them stopped us I pushed it abit and got on the slides even with my scarf they just stared but not even 1 refused because of the band. Overall a brilliant holiday and will defo go back to the hotel.

We have just arrived back from this hotel last night and well i have to say it is a fab hotel!! i would recommend to everyone. Great for children, great kids club, mini disco at night, play park. The hotel location is in Fenals which is around 5-10 minute walk from the main centre, great location as i wouldn't stay in the centre of lloret with children as gets abit lively and some lively hotels. We will definitely be back next year cant wait already. Apartments are large, with kitchen and balcony. Cleaned to a very high standard everyday! Staff were very pleasant, bus stop just down the road, large supermarket around 2 minute walk from the hotel. Beach is about 5 minute walk, lots of lovely places to eat in lloret. We especially loved the back streets as it there wasn't many English there. We found lloret didn't have a lot of English tourists which was perfect. We went to tossa de mar for the day and there we found a lot of English but gorgeous resort. We also went to Blanes for the day (rubbish) didn't enjoy it at all. Marine land is great if you have kids, Gnomo park which was just up the road from our hotel, we didn't go as it looked rubbish tbh. Santa clotilde gardens well worth a visit, amazing we loved it!
All in all a fab holiday and one of the best hotels and resorts i have been to in spain. Can't wait to go back, see you next year!!

I always read reviews before visting af hotel - so let me try too bescribe the hotel.

Hotel and staff - lovely hotel. Big pool. Indoor pool just right next to the outdoor. There are all inclusive to 23:00. We checked in 23:02 and had to pay for Water. Our first experience with the hotel :-(. The staff don´t like the all inclusive people. You always be last in que.

Food - it was ok....the same every day. But OK. REALLY negative that you can´t get water in all inclusive. You have to stay in line at the bar every time. Other hotels you can tap it your selve. And you use the same bar as the paying guest . and you always come last. The are smiling an friendly to the people how pay.

Room - the rooms are really nice. We had pool view. To Scandinavian people - there are a lot of English people - it is not like a Scandinavian hotel - where there are quite by 22-23. Compared to Scandinavian - the guest are very loud. The dont go quite to there room at night. The main road - when you have pool view - can be very noisy.

The animation team have activities all day long. I think that is good.

I think we will go back. We went to Barcelona for one day - the hotel is a good base.

I think the hotel were only 1/3 full. I dont think I would live there, when all the rooms are fully booked. There were some Young Groups, and the shouted and screaming and were very drunk at the pool. I think there will be many of these in the main season.

I think I could be good for the hotel to have one Building or some rooms where the Young people live over and under each other. And mayby try to put the scandinavien people together. At Scandinavian hotels English people live together.

Room Tip: Poolview is good. But you will hear the main road.

We chose this partly because of the reviews, and we're not disappointed with the hotel itself. Staff were always polite and helpful, and the hotel was always kept clean. The apartment itself was surprisingly spacious, clean, and serviced daily.
My only criticism of the apartment was the shower screen - it was not wide enough to have a decent shower without flooding the bathroom, but just a minor point.
Away from the hotel, the beach was disappointing, as we read in the reviews about "sandy" beaches. It is not sand, it is tiny pebbles, which really hurt your feet after about ten mins walking on them.
I cannot comment on the food, as we were self catering, but it did look nice.
Ten minute walk to the beach, or 15 min walk to lloret de mar.

Room Tip: Pool view a little quieter at night

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2014 via mobile

Just back from a 10 night break in Costa Encantada. We were on the 4th floor of Block A room 411 and it is a little dated (in need of a revamp) for a 4 star resort. I am sure there are nicer rooms available. The rooms were clean with a lovely flat screen TV, fridge freezer, cooker, hob, microwave & toaster.

We were situated at the front of the building overlooking the kids play area. My main gripe really with the room is that we could not enjoy our balcony space due to a faulty light flashing like a disco. We reported this to reception 4 times & it wasn't fixed. We were told it was on a timer & connected to the other lights so hard to fix. We were unable to turn the light off at night either. Such a shame really as it was the only flashing light in the whole section.

We were all inclusive and happy with the food available for each meal during our stay. However, they decided to allocate seating 2 for dinner which is at 8:45pm, which is way too late for a family to dine especially with a 4 year old. We approached reception and asked to be changed to 7:30 sitting & this was not a problem.

There are taxes due when you check in & we had to pay €13, so just be aware of that.

As stated in a previous post one of the bar men is very adamant that each person get 1 drink each at a time, this means as husband & wife we were expected to take turns to get our own drink rather than get for each other which seemed a bit silly if one of us was tending to our daughter at the park etc. Angel was very rude to us at one stage making a scene over getting 2 drinks that I felt I needed to tell him he was very rude to his face. I was fed up of him after 5/6 days.

The area around the hotel is lovely, Fenals beach fantastic & Sa Boadella beach a bit further away is pure paradise. A visit to Jardins De Coltilde a must & if you have little ones, Gnomo Park is fun for a few hours.

Lloret Centre is not a nice place to visit in the evening with children, a lot of police presence & we got an unsafe feeling around the place. We would definitely never stay in the centre of town.

The shops on the way to the beach (Fenals) are crying out for business so if you decide to shop for a few items they are cheaper than the town centre.

All in all a lovely stay but it's doubtful we would return to this hotel again as the all inclusive customers are really treated like 2nd class citizens at the bar especially.

Indoor pool great, pool area lovely too. Plenty of activities & the Animation Team are lovely.

Evening entertainment good if a little repetitive for kids but the shows after the disco can be great. Especially the Eclipse show, the lady with the hoola hoops was fantastic.

I hope this helps & sorry for such a long post.
