2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

I'm not usually one for moaning, but there is so much wrong with this place that I'll make a list of pro's and cons.

Pro's:
Beautiful decor, modern and very clean.

Lovely cleaning staff. Very friendly.

One thing I have to mention is the two young men that work in the downstairs bar. They were both delightful and always had a smile for us, which gave us a little bit of hope for the hotel.

Cons:
Miserable staff that slam your drinks down (after complaining, we managed to have our drinks placed down gently. If we were lucky, we got a smile)

The food was nice, but it was always similar to the night before. Always the same. There is one woman in the dining room that will make you feel very uncomfortable. She is unfriendly and hostile and will definitely put you off of using it.

The all inclusive in this place is one big joke, although we were not laughing. It starts at 11am and finishes at 11pm. Believe me, when you are on holiday, this is not late. HOWEVER, the bar stays open IF you pay for your drinks. I've stayed at 2 star hotels with better all inclusive. Last year, I stayed at a 2 star that started at 9am and finished at 12.30am. Believe me, the drinks are too expensive to buy. The staff hide the tea bags so if you want a cup of tea, you have to beg. They give you one at a time, and you have to que up to ask for one. They did have them out one day, but soon put them back behind the bar. I guess people were probably 'stealing' them. This is a FOUR STAR hotel. Surely they can leave the teabags out.

I asked for a teabag at 10.59pm and was refused because the staff were closing off the machine.

A flood of French footballers came into the hotel. At first, this was extremely exciting. This excitement soon turned to resentment when we saw that the staff near enough closed off the dining room for anyone that wasn't all inclusive. Everyone not all inclusive got special treatment, and on a few occasions we were unable to get a seat in the dining room because every single table had a reserved sign on it. Honestly, if you are all inclusive you will be treated like absolute trash. After a few British people made complaints about the reserved signs, we noticed a small difference. The next day, there were not as many. However, the French left and the German footballers came. And what do you know? Reserved signs on almost every table.

One of my biggest issues is being told to go to bed. Yes, being told to go to bed. Ask yourself, you're going on holiday... Do you want to stay up with the friends you make with a drink by the pool? IF the answer is yes, avoid this place at all costs. The security guard comes out at aprox. 11.30pm and tells you to go back to your room or leave the hotel.(It's not his fault, he is absolutely lovely) If the hotel is next to a residential property, then some pre-warning would of been nice. 11.30 is not late on holiday, and therefore the hotel MUST state that people are not permitted to stay up past a certain time. If the hotel had stated this in its description and I had gone ahead and chosen this hotel, I would have no problem with it. But the hotel did not state this. So as I said, if you don't want to be told to go to bed then choose a different, friendlier hotel. Just to state, we were not a group of rowdy youngsters. Most of us were all over 40, just trying to enjoy each others company. Since that was the only thing that we were able to enjoy. In the end, we made a joke out of it. Every time he came out for a cigarette, we would say 'is it bedtime now?' Towards the end, we were all counting down the days to go home.

Using toys in the pool is not permitted, it clearly says so on a huge list of prohibited acts next to the pool, so if you have kids then PLEASE choose a friendlier hotel.

The cup system is ridiculous. The woman that checked us in was working by herself. We waited for ONE HOUR in the heat, just to be charged money. What we didn't realise is that the two tickets she had given us were for our plastic cups. Yes, you put a deposit down on a (poundland) cup. Apparently to stop people from 'stealing' them. AGAIN this is a FOUR STAR hotel. How shameful. That two star I stayed in gave us clean cups every time we went to the bar, and we didn't have to pay for them.

The snack bar didn't exist until the last couple of days of our holiday. We think that people complained and that's why it opened, nobody knew it was there and we were all very angry when we realised that we had paid for a snack bar that didn't exist.

I'm sure I could go on with the faults of this hotel. Honestly, this is the worst holiday I have ever had. You are better off staying at a lower star hotel because STARS mean nothing. Again, you will get treated like trash.

I look forward to the managers reply and the excuses he makes. He seems to deny in EVERY review that his staff are miserable. 100's of people can't be wrong. Go see for yourself.

And good luck.

One more thing. The manager made it clear in a reply that there is entertainment EVERY evening. This is one massive lie. There is NO entertainment. One night, there was some music for the french OAP's, but not for us. And even then, that was only a laptop playing some music. Just be warned, it gets very boring. There is no table tennis/activities like that. No evening fun to be had. There is NOTHING to do. Again, if you have kids then this is not for them.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review which I'm sure will be helpful for our future guests.

I'm happy to hear that you did find most of our facilities and services of your liking. Indeed we have a very confortable atmosphere and modern and beautiful decor. Our staff is always ready help as much as they can and I see you did make friends with our bartenders. Thank you for your kind words, I will let them know.

I'm sorry to see however that you didn't grade us accordingly, and that you did find some of our rules and working systems bothersome.

These rules are not directed at anyone in particular, but they exist for a reason. I'm sorry to say this, but some people need rules, and we have them to:
- avoid disturbance to our guests rest,
- maintain order and cleanliness,
- keep the installations safe for adults and kids.

We do everything that is possible to make our space both a fun place to be in and make friends with other guest and also a place to rest and relax. You can imagine the complexity of this when we have people of different cultural background, age groups, nationalities... So it isn't that we don't trust anyone in particular, that is why we have rules, to avoid having to argue with our guests as much as possible. Someone might say, "so and so has this, why can't we..."

And this is why you couldn't stay up late with your friends talking at the terrace after hours. That is why we have a ticket system for returning drinking glasses and we have reserved signs on dining tables to separate teenage groups from our family guests, etc.

There's no huge list of banned things to do at the pool. Perhaps you mean you cannot walk in barefoot and dripping wet from the swimming pool to the bar inside, which only seems reasonable.

I'm not sure when you stayed at our hotel, but we have an animation team now for the high season. You can check our Facebook for our updates. We have plenty of games such as darts, 4 in a row, ping-pong, waterpolo, water basket, and a mini club for kids. Every night we have music and dance, you won't have a chance to miss out on the fun. In the low season we did have nightly music too.

About our snacks in the All Included, we have had very low occupation this spring. During some weeks we served snacks at the bar instead of opening the buffet restaurant. I'm sorry the information didn't get to you as it should have. We realized we failed communicating this now and we apologize to those guests that passed unaware. All inclusive bar opening hours are clearly stated in our website. It is from 11h to 23h, and you should ask this when you book as this is what you pay for. I'd like to take the chance here to speak to any future guests: if you find anywhere online that it says otherwise please do let us know.

And once again, about our staff, we are all human and we have our ups and downs. Perhaps the week you stayed wasn't the very best of some of our employees. Our apologies in the name of all of them.

Once again thank you for your staying us and our deepest apologies for your discomfort.

Best regards,

The staff were miserable to the all inclusive people and they were realy strict on the times to get a drink like if u miss breakfast u have to wait an hour before u can get a coffee or a drink of juice which was poor considering we were all inclusive the food was not labeled so u didn't no wot it was the only thing they had on the meat dishes was a pic of a pic of a pig or cow or rabbit which is totally of putting, and the air con was terrible in the rooms but it was ok for a cheap break

Came here for a 5 night stay with boyfriend as some reviews on here stated it was good for couples... I agree and disagree on that... If you like lots of loud young teenagers yes but if you want to relax no.
The rooms are really cleans nicely sized the only thing that has let it down is the aircon doesn't work and we weren't told untill we asked after a horrible sweaty nights sleep. Wish we were informed before as it would of been nice for the heads up.
Location is about 10 min to the sea front which has a few nice quiet bars and restaurants if you want clubby it's abit more of a treck there and in 30 degree heat you may want to get a taxi.
Food is ok abit of the same all the time and no signs stating what food is.. To me this would be a lot more helpful. Also you are not allowed to take any food ( even a piece if fruit out of the all inclusive restaurant..... This is a joke!!! We actually got stopped so we left the fruit on the side. )
You have to pay a deposit on your plastic cups and get a cup token everytime you hand your cup in... This is very annoying and extremely stupid as a plastic cup doesn't cost a lot of money!!!!
The staff are very unsociable as they don't really make much conversation with you or give you a facial expression, they really need to be paid to smile it would make a lot of peoples days if they just smiled!!!!!! Other then that it was a lovely hotel to stay in and we really have enjoyed our stay here.... It's worth the money we spent for a cheap get away.

We came back a week ago from our stay at the sun village hotel. We had a lovely time the sun was shining it was just a nice relaxing time for us. The beach is so close about a 10min walk, beautiful views although I would advise to keep your shoes on when walking on the beach as the little stones really hurt your feet. The workers in the shops around the beach are so friendly and willing to bargain on prices which was very good. A must visit is to the beach bar at the end of the beach which serve huge cocktails the size of your fore arm for 13 euro also the same size in beer for 8 euro there's such a great atmosphere there too. There's plenty to do such as water sports and a water park. The hotel it's self was very clean, both pools we're freezing and there was no entertainment on just a disco on one of the nights. The food was lovely but we found the dinner menu to be abit plain and boring the breakfast and lunch menus we're lovely though. Also the bar staff seemed abit moody when we asked for drinks as if they wasn't interested in serving the all inclusive customers and very rarely smiled. I can't fault anything else though and we would defiantly return.

Just came back from a 3 night stay in Sun Village, what a pleasant surprise, it has exceeded our expectations big time. Very nice and well looked after hotel, clean rooms, comfortable beds, nice outdoor areas and very good food. Went for AL package and can not give even one fail to the team and the management. Food was lovely and always fresh, plenty of choices for every taste, every day something different, lots of fruit!!!! Team in the restaurant work particularly hard, big applause to Francesco in the restaurant, guy doesn’t stop for a second and still with a smile on the face. I guess for a families with small children its not as suitable, due to the small outdoor space and luck of entertainment, as for us we were very happy with our own company and entertainment, I am not going to complain. The tokens policy was a bit strange, but I guest it stops guests from leaving the glasses around so saves staff much needed time for other things, as some moments you could feel there was a shortage of staff in the reception and the bar. Overall would definitely go back again and would recommend to anyone going for a short relaxing break in the sun.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floors with the sea view if possible, 408 was very spacious, quite and had a sea vi...
