“Good Food, Excellent service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

We arrived early and were able to get a table outside on the terrace without booking, however, it soon filled up.
My wife I shared a mixed seafood antipasto as a starter, we both had seafood pasta dishes as main course and a bottle of Sicilian white wine to wash it down.
We had been looking forward to an unforgettable dining experience and were a little disappointed - The location was good, tempting menu, the service was excellent, however, the food was average - pasta a little too al dente and luke warm.

“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

Ate here twice during a recent stay. Really fresh fish well cooked,by that I mean not overcooked.
Decent choice of wines. Both food and wine excellent value. I enjoyed eating in its outside terrace.

“Very Good Food, The Service Needs A Lot of Work”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

The food here is very good, excellent in fact, but as a restaurant it needs a lot of work to make it one of the best. The restaurant is very understaffed, with the owner and his one waiter getting in each others' way, serving the same table when others need to be seen to. Courses took far too long to come out, and some tables were recieving food before others, despite arriving well after them. A poor family in the corner spent more time trying to catch the waiter's attention than eating, with the dad clearly getting angry.

Saying all that, the food really is very good. The caponata was exquisite, perfectly balancing sweet and sour and keeping the flavour of the aubergines too. The pasta with prawns, squid and almond pesto was fantastic, a real taste of the sea, with the seafood cooked perfectly, and the cous-cous was brilliant. Absolutely no complaints, and it was worth putting up with the wait just for the food.

If you're patient, come here, as the food is great. If not, there are places that have almost as good food in the town with better service. We saw some warnings from other reviews about the service, so I think this is an on-going issue, but they've got some fantastic staff in the kitchen to make up for it.

“Fabulous food, a little understaffed?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013 via mobile

Went back for a second visit as loved the food. Grilled cheese served with honey was a delicious starter. My partner's steak was generous, fabulously cooked and in a gorgeous sauce (porcini mushrooms - tasted like an ample dash of wine in it too?!). Pasta good, local stuffed meat dish very tasty and local wine inexpensive and very nice too! Only downside was the poor waitress seemed to be covering the majority of the restaurant singlehandedly. She was lovely and spoke good English but looked stressed and rushed both times - add another staff member and it would probably be five stars!
