“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

I stayed here for two nights on business and thoroughly enjoyed it. My room was large, comfortable, had good views and all the amenities I could ask for and more: mini bar, an electric iron, coffee making facilities, dressing gowns, slippers….

Breakfast was also very good with a large choice of local foods, and all the staff I encountered were friendly and spoke English.

My only grumbles about the hotel are that they need to improve the wireless internet access in the bedrooms, and also the impressive lobby lounge area would be even better if it were non-smoking. I would definitely stay here again next time I’m in town.

Room Tip: Impressive views from the rooms facing the front of the hotel

Spent 3 nights at the Holiday Inn in Yinchuan.

Location is great if you want to be in a lively part of town. It's about 15 min walk to the Drum Tower. South of the Drum tower there's a street with many shops and also a big shopping mall with tons of cheap clothing. The hotel breakfast is nothing spectacular. Internet is very very slow. Don't spend the extra money for the executive benefits. All you get is access to the 17th floor and some cheap food , coffee and pop.

Room Tip: Ask for an internet booster as the wi-fi is extremely poor

Stayed at this hotel for a night. The room was excellent - so was the service. You can actually get a wide selection of food if you ask for it. Not so pricey either - will definitely come back here to stay. I have stayed at other hotels earlier in Yinchuan, but found this to be one of the better ones. The breakfast spread is also very large - you can choose between the usual chinese and the western spread. Definitely worth the money that they charge. Staff was also very helpful.

Room Tip: Choose the front facing rooms - the view is better.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

I have just spent 6 weeks staying in the Holiday Inn in Yinchuan city, Ningxia province, China. It is formally known as the Holiday Inn Yinchuan International Trade Center.

It is a truly wonderful hotel - in every way. That is testified to by its popularity - with Conference after conference being convened (and housed) here, for Chinese professionals. Incredibly busy - some weeks. There was 400 for breakfast one nmorning - all handled totally proficiently by the restaurant staff.

My room was a "standard" on the street side of the Hotel. Totally silent with good fitting windows. On the 11th floor - so great City views ! The bed was "to die for" - vast and so soft. A choice of pillow softness/harfdness ias offered ! Never had that before ! The bathroom was spotless and cleaned daily. Great shower and bath combo. All toothbrushes, combs, toiletries supplied. Boiling hot water available all day - instantaneously. So good.

There was a great desk-area along one wall of the room - so comfortable and well lit for lap-top work. Greta general lighting in the room. Electric plugs of a shapes and types in wall - so no need for adapters !! So efficient. Kettle, tea and coffee, sugar supplied - and replenished daily. Mini fridge for drinks and yoghurts etc - good and cold.

I had breakfast included in my $100 a night tarrif (very cheap for Yinchuan - a "boom" city). Get that option !! - as breakfasts are stunning ! Full Chinese (noodles/stir fry etc) and European foods (hot) available. They will make (on the spot) eggs any way you wish - omelettes, scrambled, fried. whatever ! bacon, sausages, too. Large choice of breads, toast, croissants (warm) and so well made. Fruits, cold meats, juices, yoghurts, cereals (6 to choose) - all top quality. Great, black, rich and full flavored coffee... a real heart starter !!

there are 3 restaurants inside the hotel - a European one (burgers, chicken, pastas, etc - open 10 am to 11pm. A Nooddle bar - great big bowls of delicious noodles and dumplings - lovely meal in itself ! And a full restaurant with Chinese food. Very reasonable prices in all - and a great choice in the menu of the restaurant, including one of the best egg plant (aubergine) dishes I have ever eaten !! We only ever ate there - if had not been invited out. Loved every meal.

The staff - as so incredibly friendly and helpful. Many speak good English. They will do any task set quickly and efficiently. really nice people !

So- "all in all" :: This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. And I stayed 6 weeks ! I cannot recommend it enough. Stay here and enjoy !! I certainly did !!

The Cat..

Room Tip: Road side is quiet and great views across City...

We just spent 5 nights at the Yinchuan Holiday Inn -- a very good holiday over the New Year! The city provides an excellent base for visiting the fascinating Rock Painting historic site, the 'Pyramids of the East' (Xixia Tombs) and other sites in the spectacular Helanshan Mountain Range, all within 1 hour of town. As for the hotel, it provided good service, excellent rooms, and location within walking distance of the Drum Tower in the older section of the city. The pool was great fun too. We plan to return in the future.

Holiday Inn opened in late August in the old city area of Yinchuan. It's an excellent hotel and is already worthy competition for the 18 month old Kempinski Hotel in the new city area of Yinchuan.

Although a new hotel, the staff and management are very good. Many speak English - from passable to excellent. This is the only Yinchan hotel where this happens, other than the Kempinski.

Rooms are great and facilities good. Has a good gym and indoor swimming pool. Also four restaurants.

But be prepared for little things that go wrong in a new building - China construction still has not figured out how to do plumbing very well for example. When something does go wrong, the staff are excellent at getting it fixed or providing customers with an alternative service.

Highly recommended and excellent value
