“A fun day trip!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2014

Visited the kiln and park area one day with a friend. Entrance was about 20 yuan from the main gate but you can get in for free from another area if you walk around. I didnt mind paying since it helps preserve the area.
Shiwan Park is beautiful. There are tons of small pathways with hidden rooms, all hosting something different inside. A great place to bring a camera! We eventually found the larger factory areas with many shops holding hundreds of ceramics. Also here you will find the toilet wall and many two temples. One is near the kiln and the other on the opposite end of park across a river.
I definitely recommend going and bring some cash to purchase some of the ceramic pottery! Beautiful place... a must see area in Foshan.

“This historic attraction must continue to be saved”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2014

We took a day tour to Shiwan Town and visited this ancient location and hroughly enjoyed the day even though we could hardly see through the smog. Have never seen a "dragon kiln" before and it was fascinating to see the operational technique and we enjoy walking through the cobbled streets of the ancient surrounding village, in which we could gain a wonderful insight into daily life. The cultural history that is being maintained was just fantastic to see. A place not to be missed.

“Steeped in History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2014

The kiln was amazing to walk around in. There are many different rooms to walk around in, featuring the different stages of pottery making. There is also an area where you can make your own pottery on a potter's wheel. As well, down the street from it, there are many shops that sell beautiful pottery.

“Very interesting insight into history. ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014

For anyone interested in pottery, ancient history, or just chinese culture and history in general, this place makes for a worthwhile visit.

It's worth paying a bit extra for the guided tour, as this allows you to make the most of your trip.

Lots of stalls selling old-looking pottery pieces, and the small ines make for good souvenirs or gifts back home.

Very interesting couple of hours, worth a visit. Allow yourself about 2 hours to see everything.
