“A little closer to paradise in a stunning mountain retreat.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

My husband and I stayed here for several days during out honeymoon and had the most wonderful time. The staff were kind, the service professional and food was delicious. The owners were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Our room was large with stunning views over the swimming pool, gardens and onto the mountains and decorated specially to welcome us on our honeymoon. I highly recommend hiking or mule riding with the guide Mohammed who was amiable, imparting a wealth of knowledge about local flora and fauna. We did not use the spa as it was closed due to the Eid festival so I can't comment on that, but the pool is equipped with sun-loungers and the waiters will bring drinks and snacks. This hotel is an amazing place to relax and unwind - we really had an unforgettable stay. Many thanks Hotel Malika!

I truely enjoyed our stay at Domaine Malika. The property is in a lovely setting and our room had fantastic views over the mountains. The staff are what makes this place so wonderful, from Paul who runs the place to perfection down to all his staff members. A special mention must go to the fabulous food. Although there is no menu and all the guests eat the same it could not have been better and the quality worthy of a first class restaurant!
The weather was not warm enough to make use of the pool but that didnt matter as we entertained ourselves by going on local walks (map provided by Paul) through berber villages and in the mountains - perfect!
We also made use of the traditional hammam which i highly recomend.

We loved our stay and would like to thank Paul and his team for making us feel so very welcome.

My time spent at Domaine Malika was incredible. From the beautiful property to the lovely staff I truly enjoyed my visit. The room was very nice we had plenty of room and a great view of the mountains. Domaine Malika was a great relaxing escape from the busy world of Marrakech. I highly recommend going on a hike to see the villages in the mountains and treat yourself to the traditional hammam! One of my favorite spa experiences I had was doing the hammam. The breakfast was delicious and make sure to drink the traditional Moroccan tea whenever possible! Tranquility and adventure awaits you when you vacation at Domaine Malika.

What a stay! The service is amazing (everyone was so nice and professional), the room was big, nice and cosy and the location just simply gorgeous. Even though we didn't use the pool (mid-november), we enjoyed the beautiful garden. The breakfast is really a good one and so is the hammam! Great relaxing stay, we'll spread the word!

We arrived from Taroudant, via the Tizi-n-Test pass, and stayed for 3 nights, in mid-November.
The hotel is beautifully situated in the valley, surrounded by olive orchards, and has stunning views of the high Atlas. The hotel only as about 6 rooms or so, which means it stays very cozy and is not overrun with other tourists. Our room had marvellous views on 2 sides through enormous windows, and a small private terrace with the same great views and a place to lounge (we were in room 6). Some other rooms have private terraces which lead out to the pool.
the lounge and dining area is very modern and chic, with a very unusual fireplace, and a decent choice of English/French novels on the bookshelves.
The pool area is beautifully laid out, and very peaceful, and for those who love cats there is a very friendly moggy called Minette who may well come to sit on you, if you're into that sort of thing...which we are.
The breakfasts are excellent. The 3-course dinner menu changes daily, and was great on all 3 nights, although there is no choice of what to eat, but the menu is announced in advance, so if you don't fancy it you can choose to eat elsewhere.
The staff are all extremely friendly and welcoming, make you feel immediately at home, and will recommend some lovely short hikes which you can make directly from the hotel.
There is a facility for massages etc on-site, but I didn't indulge, so I can't comment.
It makes a great place to escape from the bustle and chaos of Marrakech, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Domaine Malika is wonderful- and I am very very discerning. It is truly one of the most beautiful and quaint places I have stayed. Not only is the decor cool mid-century modern with a very french twist, but the homemade meals made from the organic food from the very large garden in back and the exceptional hospitality make this a MUST if you are in the area. I was enchanted with the olive groves, vineyards, rows of lavender, modern pool and lounge area. The rooms are spacious and immaculate. Also the views are stunning. I say this after visiting Richard Branson's place- which is lovely- but lacks the intimacy and charm of Domaine Malika.

Room Tip: We had a junior suite with a walk out terrace and an amazing view. Lovely.

Our family of five enjoyed four wonderful days and nights in this art-deco (?) style hotel in a beautiful area of the Atlas mountains. On arrival we were surprised by the huge rooms which comfortably accommodated our family of five - one room above the other (children aged 9, 7 and 5 were very happy and safe sharing). The hotel is small and when you get used to the way it works, it is brilliant. Paul, Agnes, Fuzia, Khalid and all the staff will do anything they can to help you if you ask them. One of the best aspects is that they will cook a meal for the children in the evening - pasta, grilled chicken, etc., which was wonderful for our five-year old who struggled with Moroccan food in Marrakech where children's menus are unheard of.
In terms of excursions, we went for a trek, hiring two mules for the children across to the next valley, ate a tagine at a Berber house and learnt so much from our wonderful guide Mohammed about the semi-precious stones and herbs that littered our path. Another day we took a taxi with another Mohammed to the town of Imlil in the next valley, had mint tea looking up at Mount Toubkal, walked up to a waterfall and visited the eco-Kasbah in Imlil. The next day we walked without a guide down the road from our hotel and up to the salt mine nearby. Generally in the afternoons we relaxed by the pool (a little slippery on the paving) and enjoyed the warm October weather. Additionally we would recommend the hotel's hammam, chicken kebabs for lunch, and cookery course.

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor overlooking the pool have access to a lovely shared roof terrace.
