“Elegant stay in the Atlas Mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Recommended by Boutique Souk we had a lovely relaxing 3 night stay here. We were greeted by the very friendly French owner Paul who took us to our room (no 1) which was very spacious and opened out onto its own garden. This led down some stairs to the pool area - too cold for us in April but some brave souls did take a dip. Each night all the guests assembled in the dining room for a specially cooked 3 course meal featuring vegetables grown in the beautiful gardens at the rear of the hotel. Boutique Souk had arranged a guide - Mohammed- to take us on a mule trek (not too frightening) on our first day. This was an excellent introduction to the mountainous area and we visited Mohammed's own house in a nearby village where we met his family and had a light lunch with mint tea. Lovely.

Room Tip: We were upgraded to a junior suite for our last night. It was bigger and had a lovely view of the su...

Stay here! The setting was truly fantastic; meadows, orchards and pine forests set against a backdrop of snow capped mountains. A world away from Marrakech and yet only 40 minutes by car - a great compliment to a short stay in the capital. We stayed 5 nights and could have stayed another 5. The hotel itself was stylish and run well; the owners have a great staff who looked after us really well. We loved the evening meals - dishes included rabbit, poisson and trout - made all the better by great company and good wine.

We were very happy to while away the hours at the pool (one small drawback was this was unheated), walk in the surrounding area and enjoy the hammam. There were also excursions, and for those with a car, outlying villages and scenic drives.

All in all a heartily recommended hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed in the 'room', not a suite, and the main difference was it didn't have it'...

We stayed at Domaine Malika with our 2 boys (10 and 12) for three days in early April. The weather was gorgeous and the boys swam daily in the lovely (unheated) pool. The hotel was comfortable and peaceful and the surroundings gorgeous. It was just lovely without being fancy or formal. The service was amazing, the food very good, the rooms spacious and impeccably clean. Beds were very comfortable. Paul arranged several trips for us with grace and no fuss. We would definitely go back here!
Our trip was a week, and we spent 3 nights in the mountains and 4 in the city. Next time we would spend more time in the mountains, as there was actually more to do there: hiking, mountain biking…

Stayed here for 7 nights. My first thought was - how will we fill in the time? After 4 days in Marrakech this place looked very quiet! But that's it! It's beautifully quiet and peaceful - it was just that I'd forgotten that's what I needed. Marrakech was a continuation of the madness of work back in London - I needed little adjustment. Whereas Malika was the retreat i needed from that madness. We slept soundly - woke to amazing views and a new sky every morning which for 6 days out of 7 turned to solid blue. The staff are a highlight - so attentive and yet not intrusive. We made friends here - will be coming back for more fabulous food, time round the pool with an iced Ricard, meanderings to the crossroads for mint tea, giggles with the local kids, conversations in the kitchen whilst the staff prepared dinner, the hammam (oh the hammam!) and Paul's fabulous French accent when speaking English. Truly a beautiful, intimate experience in green, green Africa. Well done to all at Malika.

Room Tip: All rooms are good - with views and balconies.

We have just returned from our honeymoon in Morocco and spent the first 5 nights at Domaine Malika. What can we say but fantastic! The setting is fabulous with views over the snow capped high Atlas and everywhere is so tranquil with only the birdsong and sound of running water as you lie by the pool. Easy to while away the days. We had beautiful weather in the high 20s. There is as much or little as you want to do here from varying lengths of walks in the hills, to visiting local markets to relaxing in the hotel's hammam (don't miss this!!).
Paul and his staff are great and cannot do enough for you. Khalid deserves a special mention too.
Food is good sourced from local produce and dinner very relaxing in front of a beautiful log fire at this time of year. Local Moroccan breakfast is good too. And the only decision for lunch is where to sit to eat it.
We will definitely return and Paul deserves the 2013 travellers choice award.

Room Tip: Not sure you would go far wrong with any of the rooms here as all have fabulous views - we had room...

We stayed here for two nights after spending a couple of days in the madness of Marrakech.
We hired a cheap car (£50 for 3 days) and had a fun road trip through the Mountains which took us around 90mins, stopping a few times to take photos of the scenery.
We arrived to a slightly confused greeting but were soon welcomed in and shown to our upstairs room, which was nice and large with amazing views of the surrounding mountains and the pool below.
We spent the day by the pool (which isn't heated) with a few drinks and we also walked around the gardens, where the property grows a lot of its own produce, which we enjoyed for the evenings dinner.
There isn't much to do in the area, but this adds to its charm of getting away and relaxing.
The owner Paul and his team are really nice and helpful, they also speak very good English.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend staying here for a relaxing break.

The location is fabulous, the small team of staff couldnt be more helpful and were wonderful. The food is simply delicious cooked with passion and the location is stunning. I had my first Hammam which was full of surprises and thoroughly relaxing and i highly recommended.
We loved it.
