Amazing food, beautiful location, great amenities - felt well taken care of! Paul and his mother were absolutely great, we loved staying here. Romantic, charming and yet small and in a beautiful location.

We can only reiterate what others have said - this is a marvellous place to stay. From the moment we arrived we were treated like honoured guests by Paul and his team. Everything was great - food, room, public areas. It was a bit cool in the evenings but the fire in the evening was lovely! The pool was freezing (sorry - invigorating!), but it was March! We had the place to ourselves a lot of the time - but this won't happen often as more people discover Domaine Malika!

The area is great for walks - and we would strongly recommend getting a guide for the day and heading up to the Berber village - a real experience (not available in summer as too hot I'm told). Be careful with Paul's instructions for more local walks!

Last bit - Paul is a great host - fun but professional. So is his Mum (who we only met on the last day) who is the driving force behind the French/Moroccan food style.

Enjoy! We did!

We stayed at Domaine Malika with our 11-month old daughter for three nights. We were looking for somewhere to relax outside Marrakech, and Domaine Malika was absolutely perfect. We were welcomed like family and shown to a beautiful room with a giant bath and an amazing view, and direct access to the lovely garden and pool area. This is one of the most stylish hotels I've ever stayed in - the whole place has been done to an amazing standard with beautiful furniture, but also extremely comfortable. The result is you feel like you are staying in a beautiful hotel, but with the feel of a luxurious country house. Paul and Agnes and their staff are extremely likeable people. They are friendly and helpful and charming, but also very professional.

Paul provided great suggestions for walks in the area and we did a couple of lovely walks. Our favourite was the walk through the Berber villages which were stunning. The people in the surrounding area were all extremely friendly and it felt very unspoilt.

This was our first time travelling with our baby so we were looking for a place which would be relaxing for us and which wouldn't be uptight about having a baby around. Paul, Agnes and their staff were extremely welcoming and we always felt extremely comfortable.

The food was also extremely good. We had a delicious lunch the day we arrived and ate at the hotel all three evenings. The menu was varied and interesting, and the food very good. The dining area is just as beautiful as the rest of the hotel, and before and after dinner you can relax by the big open fires. They have an interesting library of books as well to look at.

This is a gem of a hotel and I highly recommend it.

We stayed at Domaine Malika for 2 nights in January. We were the only couple there so got the benefits of the entire place to ourselves including a delicious French meal every night and the help of the charming host, Paul. It was very relaxing and an excellent counterbalance to the stress of Marrakech!

We could not fault our stay. The owners and staff were anxious to please without being intrusive. The rooms were spotless and warm. There was always a fire for us in the lounge and dining room. Madame and her son Paul were great - we loved them. They tried so hard and succeeded in making our visit memorable.

The food was excellent, a fusion of Moroccan and French, and they had a wine list - not always the case in a riad.

The view to the snow capped Atlas was lovely. The pool looked inviting but not for us in winter. We plan to return to experience the place in summer.

Highly recommended; they deserve to succeed.

Go there ! It's worth it. The area is subtle fantastic, starting from the view from our balcony to the smells and impressions on our walk around the area. The hospitality is that rare combination of business and personal attention. It's a family taking care of you in a professional hotel environment. We felt welcomed. We'd recommend it any day.
Regards, Robin and Caroline, living in Casablanca.

The hospitality of Paul, his mother and the entire staff at Domaine Malika is incredible. I have never had such a warm welcome and their enthusiasm for their relatively new lodgings bodes well for the future. The property is picturesquely situated in a valley surrounded by olive groves, an easy 45 mins drive from Marrakech. The main road to town is being widened which will improve access further.

Rooms are comfortable and individual (we had the suite which has a lovely outlook and balcony area overlooking the pool) with direct access from each to the pool. Meals are generous and can be adjusted to accomodate special dietary requests if necesary. There is also a friendly a la carte restaurant just up the road which offers an alternative if necessary.

Domaine Malika only opened in summer 2010 and there are probably a couple of minor issues, such as a smokey fireplace in the dining room and noisy chairs, that time and experience will improve. But none of these are major, and they certainly don't detract from the overall impression. This is truly a lovely place to stay away from the frantic madness of Marrakech.

Just a final note - while access from Marrakech is easy - I would advise against taking the alternative road from Amizmiz which requires nerves of steel to deal with the completely unmaintained mountain road that requires a bumpy river crossing (water level permitting) at one point.
