5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

This was our 2nd stay at Tapoco Lodge while staying for the MOTD. The peaceful surroundings, great service provided by Ronnie and the wonderful staff and wonderful food and accommodations are top notch! The cost is higher but value for what you get cannot be beat. We love it here and looking forward to our next stay during Fall Foliage and MOTD 2014 - can't wait!! Keep up the great work!!

Thanks for taking the time to review your experience at the Lodge, and we are happy to hear that all was to your satisfaction. We look forward to seeing you for the Fall Foliage tour. If you have not see this area in the fall, you are in for a real surprise. One of the most beautiful places in the world at that time of year. Thanks again.

This was our first time staying here. My husband and I went for a long weekend (3 nights/4 days). The property is beautiful and full of history. Its tranquil and quite peaceful. We enjoyed watching the river and kayakers take to the river rapids. The food is 5 star resort quality and lots of it, which comes with your stay. The other thing we enjoyed was the fire pits every night, where you can cook smores. The price is a bit more expensive but I have to say the hospitality you will find here is well worth every penny. They truely made us feel like family. If you are looking for a bed and breakfast that truely gives you the feel of whatever you may be missing from home - I promise you you will not go wrong! I can not say enough about how awesome and welcoming our stay was.

After hearing so many great things about the Topoco Lodge from my daughter who had recently visited, she and I agreed to enjoy an adventure weekend and visit together. We arrived after a fun drive along the “Tail of the Dragon” to a true mountain oasis which is the Topoco Lodge. Shortly after pulling into the parking lot, we were personally greeted by owner Terri who was busy finalizing preparations for the evening dinner event. I use the word event because dinner was nothing short of spectacular, as was our fantastic breakfast feast. Chef Alex is exceptionally creative and a true culinary genius. Pre-dinner cocktails were served by owner Ronnie who entertained us with fun and interesting stories about the history of the Lodge and local area.
Once settled into our beautiful room overlooking the Cheoah River, we set out to explore the grounds. The beauty of the Hydrangeas in bloom as well as the naturally embedded nooks and crannies along the pathway to the waterfall overlook was the perfect prescription to shed daily stresses and embark on new adventures which included white water rafting, zip lining and boating on nearby Lake Santeetlah.
Our hosts, The Hedrick’s, and the entire staff made it obvious the anticipation of our stay at the Lodge was fine tuned to perfection. From the Welcome Board in the lobby and the fresh flowers in our suite; it’s the superb attention to detail combined with the relaxed and informal atmosphere that will keep me coming back.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Sunflower room in the main lodge, complete with a fresh sunflower arrangement overl...

We are certainly happy that you enjoyed your stay with us at the Lodge. And you are correct, Alex is nothing short of a culinary genius! He keeps surprising all of us with new dishes. He recently perfected a "ramp soufflé" which is now my favorite. Thanks again for taking time for the review and we hope to see you again real soon.

We have stayed at Tapoco several times in the last two years, and we will keep coming back for the exceptional service, beautiful property and delicious food. Nestled in the tranquil side of the Smoky Mountains, Tapoca is the epitome of understated elegance. Owner Ronnie and the entire staff treat all of their guests like VIPs. Thanks again for another wonderful long weekend!

Every time I turned my head it seemed there was another beautiful view. This place really makes you feel like you are taking a trip through history. We stayed in a river front room, that provided a pleasant lullaby as we drifted off to sleep in the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. We received a personalized tour of the garden, grounds, and buildings from the owner! It was a really incredible vacation spot, and I will definitely return! Thank you to the Tapoco Lodge!

Room Tip: I really don't think you can go wrong with respect to a room choice. I would recommend a view on...

Thanks for taking the time to review the lodge, and you are correct about the views in this area. One only needs to travel the Cherohala Skyway to get the idea that this area is really special. The sound of the rushing waters of the Cheoah River is definitely music for the soul. Thanks again for the review and please come back.
